Oh.

That's a pertinent detail.

I'm glad someone finally pointed that out.

Dexter is a homicide crime lab blood spatter expert who is also a serial killer killing only those who think they have escaped the justice system. His late father, also in law enforcement, taught Dexter how to divert any focus on killing innocent people onto killing those who are total scumbags. I think his father knew that Dexter's bent toward killing would never change, plus this would help him to not get caught.

In real life Dexter is actually married to the woman who plays his sister (half sister?) in the series. Doubt they will kill her off.

In season 3 they took a blood sample from Dexter since he was adopted as well as other physical tests (pre-natal diagnosis of genetic diseases). I suspect that at some point they will show that his "foster father" Harry was also his biological father. Why else did Harry take Dexter to raise when he found him with the bloody remains of his mother but not his brother who was also there? He was having a long term affair so it is not out of the question.

Also, there are subtle hints that Deb is a psychopath and her dad Harry was certainly psychopathic.

What they should do in the last year fo the series is have his wife discover he is a serial murderer and desire to take part after some horrific crime against her family. That would be interesting.

By the way, Dexter displays more of the traits of someone with high-functioning Aspergers rather than psychopathic traits. They tried to make him a bit more manipulative in season 3 but that just did not work. If one looks at the psychological tests for both conditions they will easily see Dexter is Aspergers while his sister and father are psychopathic.

The last episode was okay. I was disappointed that Debra broke up with Anton. I'm growing rather tired of these boyfriend-of-the-season subplots and was hoping she would settle down with a nice guy. Of course, they could still get back together by the end of the season.

I was very impressed by the scene where Debra passionately sobs over the spot where Lundy was killed. Very good acting on whats-her-face's part.

Quinn giving oral to that nosy reporter chick. Ew.

I still think they're setting up Rita to learn about Dexter's secret by the end of the season. Perhaps that will be the Trinity killer's secret to his family happiness, that his wife and kids are in on it.

What I'm really wondering though is, what's the connection between Trinity and his victims? I mean, he always chooses to kill a young woman in a bathtub first, then a married woman with two kids, then a father. What do those victims symbolize for him? I noted that he seemed to have two kids himself.

Guess we'll have to wait until Sunday to learn more...

Phone rang while Dexter read the online newspaper articles about the trinity killer's family members. I heard that the father had a blunt force trauma to the head, what other details did he read?

Now I am wondering after watching next week's preview if the trinity killer gives his weapon from his last victim to his new victim, but I may be reading too much into it.

It's a pattern. Trinity's sister was murdered in a bathtub. His mother committed suicide by falling off of a bridge. His father was murdered in an alley during a bludgeoning.

I don't think Trinity suspects Dexter...or handed him the murder weapon purposely...at least not for that reason.

I think that Trinity's son is going to figure into this somehow. The son might have even been the one who shot Deb and murdered Lundy. That may be an interesting twist...the son knowing what the Dad does.

Oh, Bridget...I agree about Quinn and the reporter....Ewww.

As far as Deb and Anton...I really didn't get that either. There was no reason for her to tell him about Lundy. I was really hoping she would start to settle down.

However, it did give a great lead-in for her to be more dependent on Dexter, and for her meltdown that prompted Dexter to kill Trinity even more for causing Deb that kind of pain.

I still think that Dexter would trust Deb with his secret before he would trust Rita.

I like Dexter and Rita together, though.

I LOVE this show! I am so hooked!

I enjoyed this last episode. It was nice to get an explanation for the connection between Trinity and his victims. And I like how Dexter is coming to admire him for his "hide in plain sight" skills.

What type of church does Trinity go to? Looked like an Anglican church of some sort to me.

I still think the Trinity killer's big secret is that his wife (and possibly kid/s) are in on it. And I think Rita will be in on Dexter's other life by the end of it, though it could still be Deb.

And yes, I think it may have been his wife or son who did the shooting on Deb and Lundy.

The gross-out moment in this episode was when we saw John Lithgow naked. Ew.

Eww is right, Bridget. I kept thinking during that scene.. "Please don't show full frontal. Please don't show full frontal.."

LOL

I think you're right about the family being in on Trinity's killings...or at least the son.

From the previews of the next episode, it looks like Dexter may kill Trinity. If that happens, it might turn into a cat and mouse game with the son somehow. I also think that Deb is going to be put in some kind of danger that Dexter has to pull her out of. She may even end up helping Dexter with the final kill of the shooter for revenge on Lundy's murder.

So many possibilities!

I love this show!
