Re: P90X
I just saw an ad for it yesterday. Let me know how it goes. Is there a dietary side to the program?

Yes there is with some pretty easy to follow recipes. The diet is split up into 3 different sections for each month. The first month is the fat shredder the second month is the energy booster and I can't remember what the third month is. Anways, during the first month it is a l of protien and I am only allowed one carbohydrate serving a day!

Nice Ceeboo! Crazy thing is I am on my 10th day too. I'm doing the yoga workout today so that should be fun times and tough. This program is kicking my butt as well. Before I started this program I could bench 340 (weigh 170) and I could run forever so its not like I wasn't in good shape. I find the diet to be the toughest part. How are you doing with that?

Hey again Rambo,
Yea, I am in decent shape (I thought, LOL). Before P90X, I have always done the cardio thing and work outs but this is TRULY A LOT tougher then I thought it was going to be.
The diet is very hard (lots of planning and shopping), so we don't really follow it exactly. We are trying to stay close and use other things (protein bars and simple low fat high protein meals). With the kids, it does get a little tough to follow it exactly.
Funny you mention the yoga day. I was looking forward to, what I thought would be, an easy day. LOL! THAT"S NOT THE YOGA I WAS THINKING. THIS P90X YOGA IS A KILLER!
Good luck and as my bride's new man (LOL) says " BRING IT ".
Peace,
Ceeboo

I'm a yoga instructor and having been doing yoga all but thirteen years of my life. I laugh when people think yoga is for wimps. LOL!
Y'all might want to check out this yoga video! :-)

Yoga is no joke. Hey, TD, since you're an instructor, maybe you could help me. I dislocated my knee a few years ago, and I'm really paranoid about doing anything that would twist it or put it out again. Yoga is great for singers, though, because of the focus and tge breathing. Are there some modifications that can be done for a bad knee?

Oh, yes there are modifications for everything! :-) I would ask your instructor for specific modifications for each posture. Often the flexibility and strength that comes from practicing yoga can really help prevent future injury.
I'm really a firm believer in learning to listen to your body. The more we get in touch with our body the more we are in tune with what is healing and what is harmful. Go slowly, breathe into the knee as you visualize strength and stability surrounding the area in which you want to focus.
I believe in working slowly with the breath, not pushing or competing, but moving with the purpose of unity and wholeness. Having said this, there are times where I practice yoga with purpose and with an intent to accomplish a particular goal.
:-)

Re: P90X
I finished the program and I thought it was really good. The diet was the hardest part and I stuck to it most of the time. It really helped me tone up and it has also helped my abs a lot. I would recommend this program for everybody however, you should probably be in a little shape before you try it. Go running for a couple of weeks before hand and then go on the program. Don't try to keep up with him the first time as well or you won't be able to move for a week. I heard of some people that had to go to the hosiptal after 3 days because they tried to keep up the very first time.
I heard the insanity program was really good as well so I will be trying that out in the winter. I read that it is more of a cardio, core, and abs workout program. Some people suggested doing P90x and then doing insanity afterwards. The P90x will build your muscle and give you and overall good body and then the insanity will shread the fat and give you a good core.
