Review: How to Train Your Dragon

Simple but effective tale. Perhaps you might think it a little silly at first, but that should change. Some dragons cheesily designed; variety problem? Would like to have seen even more variety on breath weapons. Good on all elements but not great in any still adds up very well. Good for the little kids, the really big kids, and dates. A must see on the big screen. 3D was good. More explaination would ruin it. Go see it.

7 out of 10

Clash of the Titans better be really really good.

I'm hearing it's not that good.

7 out of 10, BC? I give it a 9! We saw it today and thought it was great! Wonderful family movie.

My only criticism was that the first part of the movie moved a little slow. I wanted to see the more of the dragon training and it should have started sooner than it did.

It was still a wonderful movie. I plan on buying it when it comes to DVD.

Is this movie too scary for a 2 1/2 year old? My toddler had to miss Alice in Wonderland already, and wants me to take her to the movies.

A sign of a good movie is that you want to see more.

I saw it again the second time this weekend with the kids and it was still really great. I can agree with a 9 out of 10. I just try to save some numbers for something even better.

Alice was off 3D this weekend so I'd hurry and take in HTTYD before it goes off 3D.

Anyone going to name their kid Astrid now? It's a perfectly cromulent Norse name that I had not considered before even though we are Norse ourselves.

We took our 2 1/2 year old girl no problem. I read a review that said a few little ones sobbed a bit at the poignant moments. Perhaps if most other parents consider you over protective (no offense intended) it might be a little scary for yours. There are jump/frightening scenes. It does deserve it's PG rating over a G though it is far far below the typical PG-13. If she pays attention, she likely will be too in love with and concerned about Toothless and Hiccup to notice anything else. I'd take her, but that's just me.

Perhaps you should check out screenit.com and imdb.com and read the reviews.

I wouldn't have a problem taking a 2 year old to see it as long as she has seen other movies before.
