What is your Political Compass?

When I was TBM I guess that my political leanings based on Morg doctrine
was towards the right.
After doing the political compass test I seem to have more in common with Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama.
A friend suggested that for a bit of fun, I take the political compass test.

Thanks for making explicit what I, bc, and other conservative LDS have been saying here and elsewhere for quite sometime.

Not too long ago, PBS essentially vindicated "McCarthyism" as having a positive effect on national security.

PBS? Wow, I never would have expected anything like that to have come from them (although, in the early nineties, a PBS special, I do think it was NOVA, admitted clearly that the massive die-off of trees in Germany's Black Forest was an insect infestation - and not acid rain, as the received environmentalist wisdom had it at the time).

Hi Droopy,
The political compass post was suggested as "a bit of fun", so the fact that my answers showed Leftish Libertarian leanings was something of a surprise to me.
I have always voted for the Conservative Party here in the UK and will do again in May, though this time in a round about way. My constituency MP was quite involved in the expenses fiddle in Westminster, and was selected by the Commons to take the role of Speaker of the House. Parliamentary convention has it, that none of the major parties will stand against the Speaker. Thus, Mr. Speaker usually is returned to Parliament without any opposition.
Therefore the only way that the electorate can show any displeasure is to
vote for a smaller party or for an Independent. On 6th of May, I will be voting for an Independent Conservative. It may not have any real effect on the present incumbent's majority but at least gives voters the chance to have their say.

I would not dream to know what McCarthyism is all about, I was only 10 in 1957, all that I know came from the media, both USA and British. Though the idea that people would be brought forth before any sort of tribunal and accused of political and even national disloyalty/subversion without all of the evidence being put forward is, as we English say, just not Cricket! I may be ExMo, but support many american ideals.
