Very different situation. We aren't bordering a nation with tanks threatening to pour across our borders.

Also, World War II is trotted out far too often as an example of why compromise and diplomacy are bad as 'less appeasement' would have stopped Hitler. This is true but no one seems to remember the lesson of the Great War when a little more compromise and diplomacy might have averted a pointless and senseless war.

Frankly, I find the implication the Ronald Reagan did have absolute fealty to Article II of the Constitution to be highly offensive.

And I suppose you'll also find some snarky thing to say about how the Meese Commission was not entirely consistent with the First Amendment.
