I didn't realize the Mormon Holy Ghost looks exactly like Daniel Peterson.

Simon, you're Will's dream date.

by the way, since you're such a fan, can YOU tell me the "far more definitive" reason to reject Nibley's theory, other than the presence of nonEgyptian characters?

Also, can YOU tell us why Joseph Smith would want to encipher the Book of Abraham when he wanted to publish it immediately? After all, according to Nibley:

It was not the habit of Joseph Smith to suppress his revelations. He made every effort to see to it that each excerpt from the book of Abraham was published to the world the moment it was presentable. "One cannot read the pages of the early periodicals of the Church," writes James R. Clark, " . . . without being impressed with the fact that to Joseph Smith, availability of the new revelations of God where people could read them and immediately profit by their instruction was more important than the technicality of having a complete text of these ancient records at the start . . . " Hence, Clark notes, it was his custom to publish them in the form of extracts as he went along.

We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I thought you guys would enjoy it as a little bit of tongue-in-cheek humor, since there was all the talk of Mount Doom and Tectonic Plates, and the Chosen One of the Apologists, etc.

I am not discussing the KEP on this thread.

The best part about it, in my opinion, is the quote from Scott Lloyd. What an embarrassment.
"[I]f, while hoping that everybody else will be honest and so forth, I can personally prosper through unethical and immoral acts without being detected and without risk, why should I not?." --Daniel Peterson, 6/4/14

It was pretty funny, I'll admit that. I just couldn't resist pointing out that no one, not even Will's Biggest Fans, can seem to answer those questions.

Oh, oh, that reminds me. We need one using Scott's quote about intransigent, lazy "folk Mormons."

Those ads are killer Darth J and I liked Willy Law's poster too. Simon's on the other hand, a little lame. It can be hard for a Mormon to lighten up and bring some humor.
I'm the apostate your bishop warned you about.
