Which one, if you don't mind me asking?
United Methodist Church (UMC)

I always think it best to trade unsubstantiated assumptions with more unsubstantiated assumptions.

Maybe you and I should go have a court room debate to battle it out to the end, Mr. Yahoo. You have a law degree and I don't but I'm still willing to give it a try. I'll bring my copy of the Constitution and Amendments.
Thank you,
Zee.

Being a Canadian, I wasn't really familiar with this so I just read up on it. Looks like a good one. You'll still be a teetotaler I guess ;) My great-grandfather, the Reverend Rupert Otto Armstrong, was a Methodist minister, so I feel a certain connection to the tradition.

I have a better idea. What not ask what would Peter do? And then lie to them. I like that better. Everyone lies...that is just a fact. Even Peter lied to save his own skin and he knew Christ and saw Christ do miracles. Go figure. Imagine if Joe did that? Human beings are human beings.

I'm not into hagiography, although I think Brigham Young was a helluva man.

One of my favorite stories of Joseph F. Smith comes from the Reed Smoot hearings before the U.S. Senate.
The Senate lawyer asks him if he accepted the 1890 manifesto as a revelation. He said yes.
Does he consider it contrary to God's will to take on additional plural wives. He said yes.
Does he further consider it contrary to God's will to cohabit with plural wives after the manifesto. He said yes.
He was then asked to explain why it was he had children born to him from plural wives long after the manifesto.
He said, and of course I'm paraphrasing, that given the choice of defying God and abandoning his wives, he'd pick defying God.
