Want to speculate about the fate of liberal Mormon Harry Reid?

I don't. ;-P

Politics irritates me, generally. Tonight, I'll be at a fancy-schmancy GOP watch party, invited by a self-proclaimed Libertarian friend who is involved in starting a Black Republicans group in Oklahoma. Ironically, he's a thirty-seven year old well-to-do-ish white man. I balked at attending. He said, "All the girly martinis you want?" I said, "I'm in."

For some reason, Harry Reid, rogue Mormon, seems to be a focus of conservative folks here in Oklahoma, as well as the son of Ron Paul who is running in Kentucky, I think. Not sure, though. Again, I'm not much into politics. Perhaps they're gauges for the rest of the country?

Anyway, enjoy the election coverage. I'm going to amuse myself tonight by asking medical questions of Tom Coburn and talking trash about Glen Beck.

Polls have already closed in Indiana and Kentucky. Both states had Senate seats being vacated by Democrats. Both races have been called in favor of the Republican candidates, including Kentucky's Rand Paul (Tea Party).

Harry Reid has been an embarrassment to the religion. I'm fine wth Crazy Angle wanting to cut all sorts of government programs. Those in Nevada who claim losing Reid will cost Nevada are lying. Nevada is first in unemployment and last in federal dollars including stimulus dollars. Those last two are Democratic measures of success (spending and increasing debt). I'm glad the gambling industry is running scared or at least claiming to be. Don't think that industry is anywhere close to being shut down though. That race is pretty close though.

Still just exit polls as far as I can tell so I'm not celebrating just yet. They have Republicans picking up 50 in the House and seven in the Senate so far.

Sounded like the Dems were all over that so you should ask them. After all, they're the ones who kept fantasizing about sex with Obama after the 2008 election. But it appears Coons is going to win this one. I think Delaware was the only state where the Tea Party actually hurt Republicans. They did not select the one candidate who had better polling than Coons.

I live in the Bible Belt now, same state as KA in fact. The polling station was set up in a huge Baptist church down the street from me. What struck me as ironic was the "proposition" about banning the state courts from using Sharia Law in their rulings.

HELLO!?!?! I am voting in a Baptist church!

I'm sure it will pass because the wise people of this state have good reason to fear the intrusion of religion in their government. It has to be stopped before there's a mosque on every corner.

Man, now I'm really feeling ripped off this cycle. We only got to vote on whether to make hunting a constitutional right with our propositions. That, adding a state constitional amendment to be an anti-Health Care state in the name of choice, repealing affirmative action, and a few odds and ends about state funds being reclaimed for the general fund. You'd think a state that was boycotted for enacting new laws that riled up everyone from the Feds to Hollywood would have something interesting on the ballot.

I did get to vote on medical MJ I guess. But still.

Oh, and my polling station was in a library. I'm really getting ripped off.
