Dealing with disappointment

Post by _aussieguy55 »

I have been watching the current analysis and reporting on the recent election even though I am Australian. I felt for Obama, imagining how he felt and recalled the times when I attempted applications for jobs and failed for a variety of reasons. One can experience deep depression.
What does he do next? I remember I asked advice from some I knew were successful in their jobs. There were people I worked with who knew how to get on; while you were doing the work they should have been doing to they were out their networking. One guy I respected told me he had three principles he applied: hunger, drive and attitude. I remember I started applying that. When I successfully obtained the upper level position I wanted I heard reports coming from the panel that they were really impressed with my responses. I was really passionate, enthusiastic (what did I have to lose).
I think Obama has to develop some killer instinct. The people who are his enemies want power at all costs Gingrich, Rove etc and he has a huge TV network (Fox)on a 24/7 basis attacking everything he does. There was a Presidential historian on Stephen Cobert tonight and she gave two examples of former Presidents who were in a similiar situation; Teddy Roosevelt and FDR. Both overcame their obstacles.
In my work career I experience times when some idea of mine was introduced and was successful and yet the Manager above took credit from his supervisors for it without giving me the recognition. What happens if the policies that Obama has in place do work? Will get any credit or will the Fox spin or narrative will be that the GOP were responsible for the good economic news?
I always liked Obama, family man, married only once (Ginrich (3), Murdoch (4), Juliarnie (4) ) and a reader and writer. Unlike the Bushes he had not big money behind him, unlike Clinton he did not have any moral lapses.
I know how he feels, my hope he finds some wise person who like me helps him finding his footing again and inspires Americans like he did when he first became President.

Obama has no moral lapses? snicker How closely have you followed him? How closely has the media covered him. Chicago Tribune writer John Kass jokes that the mainstream media treats Obama like he was a baby found in a reed basket. What about his close relationship with Tony Rezko. What did he offer Auchi in return for his loan of $3.5M to Rezko. This allowed Rezko to buy the plot next to Obama's house which was essentially an addition to Obama's plot.

And there are the other small deals which were good for Obama supporters but did not benefit the public.

Almost three years ago, I heard from a senior person at the Tribune Co. that Obama had a reputation in Springfield of being lazy and a womanizer. The lazy part I can believe. However, the womanizer I consider unlikely. If hillbuzz is correct, he swings the other way in general.

Obama didn't have big money behind him? Winfrey and Soros are both billionaires.

Did you see the interview with Newt Gingrich's second wife. While he was screwing the no. 3 wief to be he asked his wife if it was ok. His wife said didn't he think there was some inconsistancy between what he said and did. His reply was they will listen to what I say not what I do. Richard, why do so may GOP have a pants problem? They are against gay marriage and support traditional marriage (they do it so often). Where is you so called Holy Spirit working in the lives of these "christians"? You are against abortion and yet do not want to help those when born into poor families. But then I suppose they provide the numbers for your prisons and army.

The only reason you believe this is because he is black, isn't it?

Why are you dealing with such disappointment over this recent election? President Barack Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot of this recent election. Barack Obama will be up for re-election in 2012.

Yes. I think he should ignore the calls within his own party not to run. He's finally been outed as a fraud and a Marxist tyrant and would certainly go down to defeat as is the desired result.

You'll find a few racists among conservatives now and then but it certainly doesn't drive conservatism. The real problem of racism is that most blacks and many libs suffering from white guilt voted for Obama simply because he is black and that is the real problem of racism. It's only extant in any significant way on the left which promotes it.
