Dexter Season 5 Discussion Thread [spoilers]

Anyone notice that Harry hasn't shown up lately? At least the last couple of shows that I can remember.

I just noticed that Harry has been absent since Dexter made a conscious decision to save Lumen.

It will be interesting to see when Harry shows up again.

Hmm, didn't notice that Harry had disappeared. Wonder if that will prove to be significant or not. It'd be interesting if Lumen "cured" Dexter of his Dark Passenger.

Last episode was okay. I still feel like this season has been kind of slow. I like it, but I don't love it.

Third episode in the season has so far been the best.

I completely agree.

Last season kept me on the edge of my seat every episode.

This season, I'm still into the show, and want to find out what happens, but the pacing is much slower.

It will be hard to top the "sexpertise" episode. Masuka's visuals were priceless! LOL

OK...pacing picked WAY UP last night!

I'm really wondering how Dexter is going to keep from getting caught by that nosey detective who took pictures of him and Lumen on his boat!

It looks like Quinn may turn on him, though, and end up defending Dexter in the long run for Deb's sake.

I was soooo glad Batista decided to back up Deb. The Leutenant was so at fault for that mess!

It was a good episode. I really hope LaGuerta gets some serious comeuppance this season; she never got any for screwing Esmee's fiance to get her job back. Seeing Officer Cira Manzon turn on Debra was a plot twist I was not expecting.

I wonder if LaGuerta will find out about Deb's romance with Quinn and use that as ammunition against her in their conflict.

You know what would be awesome? If Debra or Batista was promoted to Lieutenant by the end of the season.

Also, is anyone else concerned that the Santa Muerta gang might use the public information about Debra being in charge of the case to come after her? Which would mean coming after Dexter, Harrison and the Nanny?

I'm glad Cole wound up on Dexter's table this week. How many guys were there in that picture and how many rapists in the ring left?

Now that I'm on my laptop, I fixed it.

The next one in the rapist ring to be taken down is Jordon Chase, the "take it" guy. I'm not sure how many others are in the ring, though.

You know, I was really skeptical about Dexter hooking up with anyone so soon after Rita, but I REALLY like Dexter and Lumen together. I think she could actually be "the one" for him, especially since she knows exactly what he is.

Do you think that Julia Stiles will be back for next season? Has anyone heard any rumors?

I'm wondering if Jordon has some type of connection with Trinity. He also seems to know A LOT about Dexter. He mentioned Rita's name, and he also knows Harrison's name! That was creepy.

My favorite line in this episode was, "I have your top security guard's head in my luggage." LOL

I'm officially hooked. Can't wait until next week! :-)

I like Dexter and Lumen together too, Liz. I hope she isn't dead by the end of the season.

Has season 6 even been confirmed yet? I haven't heard anything about it. The show is a hit and brings in good ratings, so it seems to me that the only reason it would end now is that the actors and creators are getting tired of doing it. I've heard that Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter would like to settle down and start their family.

I really hope there will be a Season 6 though, because I just can't see the entire series being over and wrapped up in four more episodes.

Found out that my sister has begun watching the show, which is happy news for me since we've always been so different and seldom had much to talk about. :)

I just realized I forgot to review last week's episode. It was a little slow, but had its moments.

Astor coming back was an interesting way for Deb to find out about Lumen.

I loved it when Dexter beat up the child molestor that was hurting Astor's friend...and the scene where Dexter told Astor that he loved her and was proud of her was really touching.

It seems like they are working to open Dexter up for a real relationship without secrets.

I really hope he doesn't get caught in the last episode with that dirty detective hot on his trail.

The last two minutes of this episode was frightening and put you right back in the action. Jordon Chase knows Dexter and Lumen are onto him, and this next episode is going to be a real game of cat and mouse.

Loved, LOVED, LOVED last night's episode!!!!

The Dexter/Lumen seduction scene was HOT!!!!

This season has been pretty good, but I still think the best has been season 2. I still miss Doakes even though they obviously had to kill him off. He cracked me up.

I had no problem with them killing off Rita in favor of Lumen. Rita was incredibly irritating last season (which the writers likely did on purpose knowing they were going to kill her off; no point intentionally pissing off the fans), and I'm totally digging Lumen's character. I love that Dexter has someone to share his dark vigilantism with who gets it.

The suspended cop who's on to Dexter and Lumen has two episodes to live. No way he can survive.

And yeah, LaGuerta needs a good smacking. I've never wanted her to get it like I do this season. Holy crap, she's annoying.

And yeah again; Masuka's hilarious, and his best scene this season was his explaining the double murder scene. Hilarious and classic!
