I am thankful to have at my fingertips the media and the ability
to communicate with all sorts of far-spread people --- even with
those who will disagree with me in fundamental ways.

It is a blessing (and perhaps a potential problem) not possessed
by my ancestors, nor even by most of my parents' generation.

If past Thanksgivings were days upon which people gathered
together, to share with relatives and neighbors, then the modern
development can be an expansion and betterment of that old
tradition. At least I hope we can make it so.

Thank you, Simon. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. And a very hectic Black Friday!

Here's wishing everyone a reflective, introspective Thanksgiving to Simon, UD, harmony and everyone else.

I am reminded of the prayer on the food before Charlie Anderson (played by Jimmy Stewart in the 1965 movie, Shenandoah) pronounced before eating:

“Lord, we cleared this land. We plowed it, sowed it, and harvested it. We cooked the harvest. It wouldn’t be here and we wouldn’t be eating it if we hadn’t done it all ourselves. We worked dog-bone hard for every crumb and morsel, but we thank you Lord just the same for the food we’re about to eat, amen.”

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I am thankful for MDB, and for all of the good people, of every religious or anti-religious persuasion, whom I have gotten to know here. Thanks for being here and sharing something of yourselves with us. Even if I have harsh words at times (Simon, I'm looking at you), I still have a great deal of fondness for you all.

Thanks!

My heart runneth over with gratitude for Simon for starting this thread, so that I could have the opportunity to stand before you all this day and say how thankful I am for all you wonderful souls of the MDB community. . . And I know this place is true, and I know Dr. Shades to be a true inspired God for it's creation. . . thus verily, yadayadayada. . . .

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!
