Is there any way to turn this BS off? It's beyond annoying.

I love it. I quite often need to add a response to the new post within the reply I'm composing.

Gotta agree with Shades here. I take a long time composing and editing posts, so it helps to know if someone has already made the same point, or added something that affects how I would respond.

Okay, sometimes I like it but sometimes it does it several times before I can get my comment to post and by then my post is somewhat pointless.
BUT, other than that I like it and it only adds another click. It would be interesting if there was an on/off switch.

Clearly you put way more effort into your responses than I do. There needs to be a feature for us lazy posters!

That is a feature for you lazy posters. It prevents you from having to double-post!

My responses are in no way affected by any late coming posts. You underestimate the depth of my lazissitude.
