I miss Beastie. :(
Along with Mr. Darth J, and a few others Ms. Beastie was easily one of the most insightful, wonderfully patient 'critics' of the Mopologist movement.
I miss her contributions to this forum.

I agree.; I was thinking about her the other day. When we were discussing the 50/50 ratio of males to females, it reminded me of a great discussion she started on MAD.
Also, her Mesoamerican website was very well researched.
I hope she visits us again soon.

Oh, poor you. You don't even possess the mental capacity to bring yourself to Darth J or Beastie's level (and that 'ain't saying much).
Go back to your $10.00 an hour job as a day laborer.

Wow
Why so vindictive Simon? Do you think this help the LDS cause?
And yes I miss Beastie as well.

I think beastie is around, but she is invisible. Like an imaginary friend, only she is real. She is with us, but we can't see her.
:-)
I miss her too.

So it even pisses you off, Simon, and warrants an excoriation when someone you dislikes writes an homage post to another?
During your week off from MDB, did you go to a hate camp?
by the way, if you could match the mental capacity of Darth J or beastie, I'd be so impressed.

Hold on just a New York minute, Belmont. What do you mean "that ain't saying much"? Beastie is easily one of the most intellectually sharp debaters on this entire board.

This is psychology 101.
By now Simon subconsciously knows that his church has serious problems and cannot be true in any sense resembling what he once thought. It eats on him deep down and he is lashing out.
It couldn't be clearer.

when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

Stay classy Simon.
I wonder what it says about the strength of the LDS faith that its top-tier defenders can consistently get exposed by someone like Beastie, an amateur who apparently doesn't even have much mental capacity to talk about.

I agree. Beastie was one of my favorite posters over yonder at MA&D. I loved her discussions with Brant and others on the apologetic theory of a Book of Mormon mesoamerican setting.
She participate in a thread one time where she laid out a powerful argument showing the technological advancements necessary for smelting iron, and that the inhabitants of Mesoamerica during the Book of Mormon time frame absolutely lacked such a technology. It still sticks in my memory even years later.
Who could ever blame her for wanting to escape the intellectual dishonesty employed by many apologists over at MA&D, and the vicious ad hominen they hurled at her, to which she graciously endured?
