From 'History of the Church' by Joseph Smith pages vol. 5, pages. 372-379

I insert fac-similes of the six brass plates found near Kinderhook, in Pike county, Illinois, on April 23, by Mr. Robert Wiley and others, while excavating a large mound. They found a skeleton about six feet from the surface of the earth, which must have stood nine feet high. The plates were found on the breast of the skeleton and were covered on both sides with ancient characters.

I have translated a portion of them, and find they contain the history of the person with whom they were found. He was a descendant of Ham, through the loins of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and that he received his kingdom from the Ruler of heaven and earth.

Kindly, briefly, explain the evidence and what it means to you.

You have no more truth than I or anyone else have. It is perpetually elusive. It is unknowable.

Remember, PP believes he knows, based on knowledge.

LOL!

I would contend that PP has knowledge and addresses the questions asked, while Simon Belmont’s tired ruse is to imply he has knowledge, but runs away with tail tucked from the Joseph Smith dead ends he simply cannot answer… like the above. Please Simon, as you continue to demand acknowledgment to your questions, by what divine intervention did Joseph Smith use to come up with the translation of the Kinderhook plates which revealed to Joe Smith the story of Ham?
(note actual data referenced above).

Third request to your thread Simon. Will you kindly answer my question above?

Hi Simon,

You obviously believe Joseph Smith was a prophet called by God.

Was it your extensive research regarding the subject that caused this belief? Was it faith and/or understanding of scripture that caused this belief? Was it a miraculous personal experience that caused this belief? Was it childhood conditioning that caused this belief?

I doubt that your conclusion was reached through the deductive reasoning displayed in the OP. What caused you to believe Joseph Smith was a prophet called by God?

(Genuinely curious)

how odd that Simon compares a daily occurrence of driving home with an amazing once in a lifetime occurrence of being visited by God in an effort to explain multiple versions of the vision.
