No, it wouldn't.

There is no other myth (except maybe Jesus' resurrection) that is so deeply entrenched in human experience, with absolutely no proof whatsoever that there is even a smidgeon of truth at its core.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Do you believe Jesus' resurrection is a myth?

According to enlightened harmony's way of thinking, almost no one lived thousands of years ago. Just the people who managed to scrawl "X was here."

I would not be surprised, since she has flirted with the insane idea that Jesus never existed, as I recall.

No, that was just the final, incontrovertible straw that broke this particular camel's back. And thank god it did. Additionally, if you read Dr. Southerton's exit story it's a very good take on your typical ex-Mormon's process of leaving the Mormon church.

That said, my issues with Mormonism were the same ones anyone else has had. Having been born and raised in a devout Mormon household produced in me a desire to stay far longer than I should've stayed, but it was people like Dr. Southerton who shared their similar takes on their faith that opened my eyes to the reality of Mormonism.

Likewise, it was people like Drs. Skousen, Nibley, Perego, Peterson, Bushman, Ricks, Boyce, Hadfield, Hauglid, Lindsay, Hales (and those are just the ones I've read about or read publications by) who shared their similar takes on the faith that opened my eyes to the reality of Mormonism -- the real reality of Mormonism.

Hello,

What's the "real reality" of Mormonism?

Hello Mr. Simon,

To be clear, what would that be?

The exact opposite of what you currently think about the church.
