Resign or get Excommunicated?

Post by _zeezrom »

Assume either one was imminent. Which would you rather experience and why?

I would rather experience getting ex'd because it is more interesting. I would also try to record it with a hidden sound recorder.
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

Meh. Honestly, I don't think I could handle having a bunch of men judge me while I sat there with no real support. It would be emotionally traumatic for me.

They would have to look me in the eye and x me.

why

so all involved would experience the full spectrum of their judgement and love.

I don't agree with the Church's disciplinary process, so I would resign.

Actually, resign is on my terms, my way.

The way of the Tao would suggest doing nothing and see what happens. If those who excommunicate choose to judge and thus be judged, then it is their choice. They have their story and you have your own.

Although i will most likely resign, I would love to get called in for the ex'ing...I find the whole process fascinating. I just had a buddy tell me all about his ex'ing and i would love to take advantage of the soapbox he was given...the idea of a bunch of deluded, self important, randomly assigned church administrators judging me sounds fun as they will be forced to listen to me for as long as i choose to talk...And i would come prepared...

The problem is that the current, corporate version of the LDS church is chicken-S*&%...If they can't tie your ex'ing to a "sin" or some sort of personal flaw, then they wouldn't dare call you in...Joe or Brigham would have sent me packing long ago. The current leadership doesn't dare even-though i have personally led several tithe-payers out of the LDS church...I repeat, chicken-s&%^$...
