My only involvement in this issue is the one that has been carried out in public via this and the other board; no emails, no phone calls, no personal conversations.

I honestly have no idea what is or is not happening, but the only way that I could be in anyway a contributor to the scene is if the public nature of mine and Will's disagreement has caused others to lurk and come to their own conclusion on this matter via second hand reports. However, nothing whatsoever has ever come from me beyond what has been accessible through these public forums.

It's true that Brian and I are close friends and kindred spirits on many levels, including our opposition to angry apologetics, however, to label Brian as a "traitor" or as one who would carry on a behind the scenes effort to paint Will or anyone else in a negative light is ridiculous to say the least. He is an honest, sincere, kindly soul. We've been friends for several years and I cannot say enough good things about this great man.

There are probably many Latter-day Saints who disagree with Will's behavior in terms of his efforts to defend the faith, but who would happily welcome him back as a trusted friend if he would offer sincere apologies to those whom he has offended and begin treating critics with respect and kindness.

I know I certainly would.

That's really all I have to say on the matter.

I have good reasons to believe you are not telling the truth. I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

Kishkumen:
At this point, the only thing that seems certain to me is that MsJack received an email from someone connected to NAMI who works at BYU, informing her that her thread on Will's misogynistic rhetoric here had contributed somehow to the decision not to publish Will's work.

That much is certain. I wonder who it might have been?

I think the truth will come out sooner or later.

Yes, everyone knows that David has a long history of lying.

Nackhadlow over at MD offered this interesting summary of the situation (and the perceived incompleteness of Will's presentation):

I wasn't the first to make a reference to the previous presentation. There were references all over the place in this thread. I just called them as I saw them and cited them.

I didn't attack Will, either. I just acknowledged that something super-hyped as a game-changer somewhat fizzled out without presenting much of substance to actually respond to. As Don said, even Will expressed that it was only a preview, and his actual documented findings that would be the REAL unstoppable game changer had yet to be published.

Continuing the analogy, people were hyped to see The Lord of the Rings, and they ended up just getting a trailer FOR the production.

Reviewers and critics are still waiting for the movie to come out. Unfortunately, he pulled a Mel Gibson, and just lost one of his distributors.

Don, am I correct in assuming your presentation this conference will be the actual presentation itself, and not just a trailer for the "real" argument?

I honestly did not see that Mel Gibson reference coming...!

LOL!!

We all saw that coming a mile away!

Let me guess. . . Will retroactively downgraded his FAIR presentation to just being a mere preview only after it crashed and burned. Before that happened, his presentation WAS the "real unstoppable game changer."

Is William the king of ad hoc?

This is slightly off topic, but does anyone have a link to the video of the 2010 FAIR conference where Scott Lloyd pushes Dan Peterson out of his chair to make room for Will?

*wow!* Working late tonight... tired... about to drool on my keyboard... but what the...

Surely “Nomad”—if that is her/his real name—is a twisted sock puppet intent on trashing every last inkling of Will Schryver’s credibility...

David Bokovoy and Brian Hauglid “traitors”?—Really?! “[T]raitors” of what?—Someone’s interminable hubris?!

[T]raitors”?—The opining of a soul caught up in Twilight Zone paranoia.

Brian and David are capable thinkers who loyally grapple with their faith’s complexities. Dubbing them “traitors” is truly bizarre.

Kind regards,

</brent>

The interesting thing about the thread Cinepro linked, besides Don's gradual change in style, is that Nomad, who is totally not Will Schrvery, baiting people by claiming that no one has responded to the arguments in his FAIR presentation with anything other than ad hominem.

That really took me aback. Not long before he absented himself from the board, Will said something about singing a song of self-immolation. I had assumed that he was referring to me, but that it better applied to him. Let others judge.
