Wade,

I have no idea what the OP is about (because I'm small fish), but I must ask, why look at the world as a place full of "cesspools"? Did you know many small towns in the U.S. use cesspools to dispose of their waste? Septic systems have been used for many, many years. As compared to mechanical treatment systems, these cesspools are very cheap for the smaller communities.

Little did you realize, there is a lot of thought going into how America can better deal with its wastewater. Right now, one of the major issues is pharmaceuticals getting into our streams.

It is very likely that cesspools have been a key player in getting us out of the Dark Ages. Would you want to see sewer running down the middle of the streets and right into the very watercourses that you boat in?!
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

Can you make it just one more thing you could admit?
You know in your heart that I am right about everything.
Think about it. What a load off. You might even feel the real Spirit for the first time.

You're equating without justification. Will is abnormally despicable, and for you to sit there and pretend he isn't tells us more about your character than I'd care to know. And that is probably the best thing that has come from all of this. We get to see just what kind of people you really are. Wade, Pahoran, Droopy, and now you. You totally support the guy who does these things, acting as blind loyalists to your tribe, while attacking the women who took offense, just because they're no longer members of your tribe. "Traitors" as Pahoran called them.

This board has become too personal because it consists of strong personalities. There should be no room for the personal on this discussion forum. From the first moment I came here there have been personal attacks against individuals. And this is the problem of the board. Will is just a victim of relentless personal attacks by posters who are immune to critique by follow critics. It is a one side show.

I don't support the personal attacks done by any side. But not to see just where the anger may come from Will after he has been relentlessly attacked by posters is turning a blind eye to personal persecution. And that is my point.

Again..his mistake was to use his real name and not to hide under a screen name.

On this board, I would never score any points. But not to see the persecution that certain people experience on this board is turning a blind eye to injustice as you have done. Will and Dan have been attacked for years on this board. And it does take a toll on the spirit and psyche. Those who favor the LDS church get bashed, mocked, named called and disrespected. To assume that every attacked LDS person will respond christlike is a stretch.

And then of course, the willingness to snitch or rely on snitches is not exactly a wonderful human quality. Here is a fact: every pent up frustration that life offers can come out on the internet because usually alias are used. But for those who use their real name such frustration is more difficult. Sometimes it just can not be stopped and it comes pouring out.

When you have been routinely attacked on a forum with several posters bashing your spirit and mocking your faith, well, we will see how you would react after it has been happening for several years.

Will is a victim? You are a friggin moron. No one has "attacked" Will Schryver. I tried to have cordial discussion with Will for two years, but eventually his ego couldn't handle the fact that he'd never be able to persuade me with his idiotic theories, so he started launching his frustrations at everyone on the forum.
I don't support the personal attacks done by any side

When you say Will's only problem was his courage to use his real name, you're effectively stating, with a straight face apparently, that calling women whores or accusing us all of engaging in circle-jerks and orgiastic sodomy, isn't at all a problem. Which means it is perfectly acceptable. I guess you also believe OJ Simpson's only problem is that he forgot some of his blood at the scene of the crime?
But not to see just where the anger may come from Will after he has been relentlessly attacked by posters is turning a blind eye to personal persecution. And that is my point.

But this point is based in myth. No one has attacked Will, at least not to the degree he has attacked others, and the aggression had always begun with Will. His failure to win minds on this forum ate away at his ego. His numerous lies from the beginning of his posting time at MAD, were well documented and we occasionally raised them to make the point he cannot be trusted. Pointing out a proven liar to be a liar is hardly an "attack" comparable to calling the women whores or all apostates sodomists.
Again..his mistake was to use his real name and not to hide under a screen name.

Is this the only reason you support claim that we engage in group anal sex? Because you are a coward hiding behind a pseudonym? In this, only wade englund is unique. Of course he is uniquely stupid as well, so maybe we can't chalk this up to courage after all.

wenglund wrote:I didn't want to return to this cesspool, but personal integrity demands it of me. I recently learned that Will's NAMI (or whatever the journal's name is) articles have been given the boot.

This means that not only was I terribly wrong about the influence of this "backwater" board on LDS apologetic decision-making, but Scratch's network of informants is evidently not entirely incorrect in what they expose.

Clearly, the threats and smear campaign from many here at MD worked in silencing Will Schryver even among his own. I didn't think that was possible, but I obviously seriously under estimated the power of this mob--which is ironic given how the mob prides itself on free speech and has complained long and hard about censorship in certain quarters. At least this is one way to avoid having to confront Will's arguments.

Now that Will is out of the way, it will be interesting to see who next gets targeted for lynching.

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

I don't believe it is thinking low of them to consider them as not beyond external influence.

I'm also sorry to see that you never had it in you to do what was right and take a stand against misogynist behavior among your peers. I'm not sure what that says about you.

I suppose it says different things to different people.

In any case, you'll be relieved to know that I was wrong about something: it took you three days to return, not the one I predicted.

Actually, you weren't wrong. I came back the following day after leaving, and was in the process of formulating this post when I became otherwise occupied.

Because I both like you and I don't want to pile on, I will keep my words very short.

I am very sorry to see that you authored this thread (I can not imagine what you think the value is?)

Simply put, in my opinion, you are dead wrong on many (perhaps all) levels.

I like you, Wade (I really do), I just don't get you sometimes.

Peace,

Unlike some here, I have no problem accepting and respecting points of view that differ from mine, and this even if I, like you, think they are wrong on a number of levels--this being a case in point. To each their own.

It was not anyone's goal here to stifle Will's work. As a matter of fact, most here, critic and faith-supporter alike, have acknowledged that they would like to see Will's work published.

But if Will wants to be an apologist and represent The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, then he has a responsibility to conduct himself in a manner that is appropriate for that role. And, after reading the material written by Will's own hand, apparently the folks at MI did not feel that Will lived up to that responsibility. Frankly, their action was much more harsh than I expected it to be. My hope was that they would simply take Will aside and ask that he make a public apology, and commit to conduct himself in a more professional manner from this point forward. I think that is what everyone here expected to take place. Do I agree with MI's decision to pull the plug on Will's publication? NO....as a matter of fact, I don't.

I do, however, RESPECT that decision. And so should you.

Will's problem is that he uses his real name on the internet boards. And this was his downfall. If he was using a screen name no one would know who he is. So, his mistake was to be honest in representing himself. And that is a tragedy since many attackers of Will do not use their real name but hide behind a screen name.

Many posters on this board do not conduct themselves in a professional manner and yet, because they hide behind a screen name they can use whatever language they choose without fear of censure.

And how should an apologist act with a bunch of ingrates who hate the LDS church and post personal attacks on a board that has no censuring mechanism?

Do you really think that Will's ego is going let him post anonymously?

A misogynist is a misogynist whether he is using his real name or not. You defending this behavior says all I need to know about you. You are a very shallow thinker.
