The discussion here is an attempt to find the root of the porn/masturbation problem within the Mormon church.

As if anyone here believes for a second that Droopy doesn't masturbate to porn. He is single, middle aged, lives in South Carolina, an extremist Right Winger who loves to rationalize immoral behavior by fellow LDS members.

Anyway, to say porn destroys relationships is false. Some people might turn to porn while in a relationship, but this is usually due to preexisting problems. Porn is a symptom of a failing relationship, not a cause. It is just that a 400 lb spouse isn't likely to admit that a healthy sexual relationship is necessary, for obvious reasons. If someone turns to porn, whether it be the wife or husband, then it is most likely to do with the fact that their spouse is not pulling their own weight in the bedroom.

Then again, some couples have perfectly healthy relationships while enjoying porn together. One thing that struck me when I first joined the Church was that the "perfect" Mormon family that introduced me to the faith, were huge sticklers for things like making purchases on Sundays or drinking caffeinated drinks. But I know for a fact that the couple, who parented the five children, had their private "movie night" watching French Porn. I was there when one of the videos arrived in the mail.
