They are in the possession of familly members who will never consent to them being given to LDSinc. Dislike of that faction still runs strong, especially so with some living near Nauvoo. Unfortunately many of the LDS who are moving in do nothing to dispel the feelings because of their attitude and actions towards some of the long time residents of the area.
I know. People living in the area cruise along for a hundred years, thinking that LDS have changed for the better, then get confronted with the truth-- that they have only gotten more subtle in their dealings with non-Mo's.
I would be interested in exchanging family history with you, by PM or e-mail.
Those journals might do well (perhaps in edited form, perhaps) at some place like Uncle Dale's website. My father's family was not very literate.

I thought I would bump this thread. I think that Simon's claims about having "written" articles on Joseph Smith is a topic that's well worth revisiting.

Why?
Because I'm interested in learning more about these "articles." This was something that you brought up repeatedly when you first began posting here. I remembered this in light of your comments on the Welch thread, and would be really curious in hearing you explain these 'articles' in more detail.

Well, let us look at what I originally said to Joseph:
Please list for us every research paper you've written about Joseph Smith. I guarantee I've written more.
Joseph has written exactly 0 research papers on Joseph Smith. How do I know this? Based on Joseph's posting dozens of threads per week with an accuracy ratio of 1/576th, it is safe to assume that Joseph is not capable of such a thing.
Now, throughout my education I have written a few things, some on Joseph Smith. They aren't and won't be published.

Meaning, what? That you wrote them while you were a student? And, as I recall, part of your rationale for not sharing any details whatsoever about them was that you intended to publish them. Have you changed your mind?

At one time, I thought about submitting them to some journal, but I think what I have to say has already been said before. For now, they are just keepsakes. Perhaps my daughters will enjoy them when they get older, I don't know.

Sounds pretty fishy, Simon.

Why won't you discuss what you wrote, Simon? Why not post your review of the Brodie book? Know what I mean? Your comments about these "articles" has raised suspicion because you keep changing your story. So, what's the *real* story, Simon?
