One post on the topic:
I'm just an everyday sort of guy
I live in western Illinois, America's heartland
I'm basically a story writer, I love to be creative
Everybody likes a good yarn! Right?
When I was younger I bounced between jobs, gold digger, glass looker
But then I started writing and I knew I'd found my calling
I've written three books and I've developed a loyal following
Although my readers are very loyal they are a small group
So I've had to go deeper, better penetrate my marketplace
I started a small bank......that didn't go so well...for the depositors anyway he he he
I set up subscription fees, real estate investments and I even bought an Egyptian mummy.
I'm a real family guy, I think a man should take care of his women....woman I mean. I only have one wife...I'm completely normal in that way...you know....just having one wife...who is for sure way older than 14 years old.

My name is Joseph Smith Jr., and I'm a Mormon

Essentially, this is correct.

Even the part about having only one wife.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Just like the FLDS leader/prophet Warren Jeffs who also only has one legal wife.

I guarantee I've read more.

Please list for us every research paper you've written about Joseph Smith.

You are not an authority on Joseph Smith. The only things you know about him are what the demagogues say. Perhaps you should take the time for find something out for yourself before you insult him.

What about the above is inaccurate, Simon? Would you prefer "treasure seeker" to "gold digger"?

Or are you seeing an error because the Kirtland Safety Society was technically a quasi-bank?

Or do you not like the "he he he" in the Kirtland Safety Society reference because Joseph Smith also lost money in that venture?

Or is it something else?

Simon,

Darth J. has a point here.

Even if you have no articles to show us, could you at least let us know which of the above characterizations of the life and behaviors of Joseph Smith Jr. you feel are not accurate (if any)?

Why is the problem with reflecting Joseph Smith's true character in this very realistic (if unflattering) way?

I dare say that most of the people with whom I have spoken about Joseph Smith Jr. see him as quite a scoundrel. (And I was a member of the Church for for more than 30 years.)

Simon, you have no papers...
Simon, you have nothing with which to dispute Joseph's presentation of facts...
Simon, quick...just bare your testimony about Joseph Smith and run away.

At one time, I thought about submitting them to some journal, but I think what I have to say has already been said before. For now, they are just keepsakes. Perhaps my daughters will enjoy them when they get older, I don't know.

So it is true that you are just regurgitating the Correlation Committee talking points? Duh, not a surprise.

What an unaccustomed situation for the person in question!

One thing Belmont can comfort himself with: he certainly can't lose any credibility as a result of what has passed on this thread. That is mathematically impossible.
