Also, Are Gynocologists (male or female) porn addicts and why? If not, what makes them different? A license or degree?

I perused the Mormon porn site and found it difficult that they have made no attempt at actually defining what constitutes pornography. Surely there are at very least varying degrees ranging from provocative attire to beastiality.

Would anyone like to take a crack at this?

Once again,

1) Porn = addiction. Please explain. Is porn simply the Mormon Kryptonite?

2) What does a Mormon Gynocologist have running in their veins that would make them immune? Or is this a rediculous notion? Why?

3) What constitutes the definition of pornography? To both Mormon leaders and the rest of the world?

now, I have my opinions, but really, I'd like to get everyone elses take on this.

I think you have hit the nail on the head as far as the difference in perception between the rest of the world and Mormons on this issue. The rest of the world defines the use of pornography to the point of negative distraction to be addiction. The LDS Church defines any use of pornography to be addiction!

2) What does a Mormon Gynocologist have running in their veins that would make them immune? Or is this a ridiculous notion? Why?

I personally find this a ridiculous notion because I would hope that someone who went through medical school and chose gynecology as a profession, whether Mormon or not, would be able to distinguish clinical information from porn.

3) What constitutes the definition of pornography? To both Mormon leaders and the rest of the world?

There are all types of porn....soft-core porn, which basically involves nudity and simulated sex....and more hard-core porn, which leaves nothing to the imagination, and shows actual penetration.

My guess is that Church leaders probably have an even more conservative view of what they consider to be porn. Many scenes in today's PG-13 and R rated movies would most likely be considered porn, even though they are not categorized as such by "the outside world".

now, I have my opinions, but really, I'd like to get everyone elses take on this.

Seeing a site like that makes it very difficult to resist calling LDS ignorant fools. I know not all mo's are idiots, but you certainly wouldn't get that idea from that site.

Unreal.

Gynecologists may very well also very well become addicted to pornography just as dentists could become addicted to nitrous oxide (although he would lose his license). The difference between medicine and porn is largely the social context in which it appears. A person in a bathing suit at the beach is in a different context than one who is wearing that same suit downtown (perhaps next to a nice car on a dealer's lot).

Some contexts may have erotic elements in them--some of which the church may approve of to a degree. For example, dance often has erotic elements even when the dance has modest (by dance standard) clothing and does not consist of overtly sexual poses or moves. Just the fact that someone is expressing the beauty and health of the human body can be powerful. I wouldn't call most of it porn though. However, I do wonder if there's a reason so many women seem hooked on Dancing with the Stars.

Because of the context, I doubt that gynecologists tend to lust after their patients. I'm sure it may happen on occasion, but the erotic context just isn't there the way it is for actual porn. The woman isn't giving off signs of interest, and there is no element of getting away with something as the woman is aware of what is being examined. Even if the woman were interested, the standards or professional conduct prohibit it plust there are other safety measures in place. For incidents where that is not the case, the gynecologist will lose his license and suffer further legal consequences.

I don't keep up with new acronyms, but is this Mormons Under the Influence? If so, is this a positive or negative thing they will find themselves being issued?

They're talking about mastication. A person who masters self-control and chews the right food is on the way to sainthood. He who masticates under the influence of hunger is doing so properly. He who masticates under the influence of boredom or stress, will find that his bottom line (or is that waistline?) just got bigger.

Addiction is a physical response, either to an ingested substance or to a neurological stimuli.

Physical response to the substance or stimuli depends on the individual.

As stated, this is utter nonsense, but I expect nothing less here from a number of individuals.

Hey Droopy, I feel that I have to express sincere admiration and congratulations on your recovery. Whatever else we may disagree on, I have to say that you have accomplished something quite spectacular. Well done!

Thank you Malkie.
