Re: Boy, was I wrong

Post by _Runtu »

I had an epiphany this morning. For a long time I wondered what motivated a complete stranger from Cedar City (Will) and another complete stranger who posted from West Virginia (Wheat/Nomad) to go out of their way to attack me the way they had. I couldn't figure out what I had done to merit their absolute scorn and derision, and I tried really hard to rectify those character flaws that might have contributed. Was I unknowingly an apostate evangelist trying to lead people away from truth? No, but maybe things I had said gave them that impression. Was I two-faced and untrustworthy? I don't think so, but maybe I had done things to lead them to that conclusion. Was I comparable to Mark Hofmann? Obviously not.

But this morning I realized I could not care less about either one of these guys. Nothing I did or could have done justifies the harassment, the mocking, the vituperation. And certainly nothing excuses the threats made to my wife (I'm not saying they did it, but the threats came at the height of their malevolent stalking). I'm left to conclude that these are just a couple of guys looking for someone to hate. And that isn't my problem.

I'm sorry others have been targeted, particularly the women who have been treated badly. But it's not my concern how they behave or what they say.

Seems I triggered your Napolean Complex. That's too bad,. However, you have a choice. You can either wait patiently as requested like a mature adult, or you can continue impotently and childishly dismissing and barking orders. It really doesn't matter to me which you choose.

I'm guessing that Wade is confusing his terminology. I.e., he's decided that reflective speculation on possible outcomes of the M.I. publishing Schryver is actually a "threat." In other words, some of us wondered aloud what might happen if the M.I. went through with publication, and if media caught wind of Will's antics, ala "Metcalfe is Butthead." I guess Wade is trying to spin this as some kind of "threat"?

Oh ... 'wait patiently as requested' is it now? I thought we all had to deny knowledge of or admit to making threats to the Maxwell Institute before you revealed whether your 'threat' story had anything to it?

Well, I for one don't expect anything from you by way of backup. So I can hardly be impatient.

Could be. The little remaining charity I have for wenglund moves me to prefer an explanation based on him being a bit confused to an explanation based on full-blown paranoia on his part.

I appreciate liz, runtu, and malkie deny knowing about or making threats. This comes as no surprise since they weren't really on the suspect list to begin with.

There are others that I mentioned who also are not suspected, like Buffalo and Chaps. I can't see anyone taking seriously anything they say or do, threat or otherwise.

However, when Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau Graham finishes crunching all his meaningless numbers, let's see if he is willing to go on record.

Maybe he, or some else here, can talk MsJack, harmony, beastie, and Stak into going on record. We will see.

I fully expect that Scratch will continue to side-step, but what else is new?

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Oh, for heaven's sake. I made no threats of any kind.

You're pathetic.

Could you please elaborate--i.e. tell us where this so-called "wondering" took place, and who exactly said what? And, whether this "wondering" was also brought to MI's attention? (Links would be nice if possible)

So, you weren't numbered among those that Scratch said were "wondering"?

You're pathetic.

Careful. With the way people's "minds" operate around here, comments like that may be viewed as sexist.

Come on Wade, do you really mean that "wondering" can be taken as an expression of a threat?
