For about 5 seconds on my way back from lunch, I was thinking one could write a fascinating article (or even a book) about all this stuff. It has intrigue, important discoveries that must not be allowed to see the light of day, sockpuppets, secret informants, lewd and misogynistic comments, traitors, and blackmail conspiracies involving a church and a university.

I could certainly get several blog posts out of something like this, but what's the point? The conspiracy theorists come across as a little unhinged, and the whole thing seems like a tempest in a teapot.

But, holy crap, it's like watching a telenovela.

Looks like I am not the only one who doesn't always get sarcasm. ;) Prepare to be bombarded with claims about vested interest. LOL

They threatened the MI by saying that, if the MI published Will's work, they would go public in a major way with their allegations—contacting newspapers, other ex-Mormon sites, various blogs, etc.

I did no such thing and Will is lying to you. Now ask me how I know it is Will.

If you re-inflict that large, now famous thread on yourself and find where I foolishly mentioned that I had a memory relating to the "C" word incident. This was my ONLY comment on the case on any of the threads. Will took special umbrage to my recollection and made a series of very vehement denials and calling me a suborned witness.

This was my only participation on the issue.

Will was the only apologist that attacked me.

I stay out of everybody's way, sometimes razzing my buddy Stem, but I am a flaky fluff ball in this forum. I have nothing to say and just don't care. I am nobody. Except to Will. Only he would have any reason to think I was involved in anything to such a personal level that I would threaten anything to anyone. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT WILLIAM SCHRYVER OR HIS ACADEMIC WORK.

Only Will would have cause to think otherwise, based on this one stupid mistake (in mentioning anything) of mine. That's how I know it is Will at the start of this lie. It is sad, but I STILL DON'T CARE.

I'm sure you're right. And it just goes to show how little respect Will has, even for his only defenders. Wade has bent over backwards trying to polish Will's... shoes during this whole fiasco, and Will thanks him by using a sock puppet to manipulate him. That's just soooo, soooo.... Will.

Admittedly, like with David, my source is at best second-hand. However, given the general ready acceptance of David's posts, I trust you all will readily accept mine as well.

Thanks, and goodbye for now, -Wade Englund-

Someone is playing you for a fool.

Obviously, I can only speak for myself, but I never contacted the MI about going public, or, for that matter, about anything else.

I appreciate you stating this for the record. And, while I think you were wildly mistaken in your judgements of Will and your actions to silence him, I still view you as a good guy too.

At the very least this means that my so-called impression wasn't entirely without merit, my alleged obfuscations notwithstanding.

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

I suspect Wade's paranoia has gotten the best of him.

I'm bumping this up in order to force Stak to give me credit, too.

Remind me again, what was the title that wenglund chose for this thread?

(I am grateful for Stak's explanatory post, which relieved my psyche of a growing burden of cognitive dissonance).
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
