You see, in America we are a civil society wherein poor behavior is not condoned when it crosses into harassment, bullying, theft of ideas, and other vile behavior. I did not want to make the calls I did, but now I hope you vile people understand that it is not acceptable to break the law, involve my family, and threaten people with whom you disagree into silence. Since you pathetic worms cannot engage the ideas you attempt to drag others into your cesspool.

I did it once, quite easily, and I can do it again. Think about that the next time any of you low life losers attack me.

I think that Mr Mustache is a little overwrought. I did not really notice the events that led to the short period this board spent offline, though I enjoyed meeting posters from here on other boards - especially when Droopy was summarily thrown to the sharks by one set of mods for, well, not being nice.

I have since paid a little attention to Mr Mustache, and have read some of his toe-curlingly bad soft pornography with mounting incredulity. Just think how many people, both LDS and non-LDS will have noticed this stuff for the first time as a result of this little incident! I do feel that his regrets about what has taken place are likely to be much longer-lived that those of any of the habitual posters on this board.

I thought that was totally sweet.

You know Tim, when the original "Timothy R. Berman Journal of Studies" thread went down, I felt sorry for you. I'd interacted with you on blogs and had you as a friend on Facebook, and you always seemed like a nice enough guy, so I didn't like that there was a thread dedicated to making fun of you. I wished it wasn't there.

However, I also didn't feel like there was much I could say in your defense. You were the one soliciting ego donations for a non-existent Mormon studies journal, and you were the one who had left a soft-core porn fiction up on the same site where you were publishing your LDS apologetics works. That others were making fun of you on the Internet was certainly unfortunate, but it was a misfortune entirely of your own making.

When Polygamy Porter posted the picture that included your wife and children, I spoke up in protest, and was one of the people who got him to remove it 18 minutes later. Beyond that, I said nothing on the thread, hoping that if I didn't give it extra bumps with posts, it would go away quickly. And it did. It was only 2 pages (41 posts) long and died in record time. People had their laughs and then let it go.

And then you had to go and pull this.

And now you're here to gloat at us and threaten us some more?

You aren't a victim, Tim. You're more of a bully than anyone on this forum ever was. People here made fun of you, sure, but we didn't do anything illegal (like filing a false DMCA take-down notice). And you want to talk about "threats"? Claiming that you're going to use frivolous and false legal claims to harm someone's ability to openly critique your public actions sure sounds like a threat to me.

All you really accomplished this weekend was to spread the news of your indiscretions to every Mormon discussions forum on the Internet and anger a lot of people who otherwise did not know or care about you. You even managed to turn some people who were previously sympathetic to you against you. People are now making fun of you more than they ever have been or would have been had you not tried to bully us.

The only difference is the quantity of the people making fun of you, and the fact that I don't feel sorry for you anymore. Not in the slightest.

You'll forever be SeattleSmutWriter to me.

Hello,

I just wish someone would post this .gif on MD&D in his stupid thread:

Like the lady just said (bolding added by me).

I don't agree with bringing families into internet banter - unless the poster brings them in himself or herself, and even then I think some restraint is in order, since the poster's indiscretion is hardly the family's fault. But the picture of which you complain was gone in 18 minutes.

Now your hysterical over-reaction has ensured that lots and lots of people (both LDS and non-LDS) who had never heard of you before will remember you in ways that afford them a fair amount of amusement.

As you think about it in the coming days, I think you will indeed be sorry it went so far.

SGW -

Last October one of MDB's own had a written piece critiqued on the then-MAD board. The thread in question can be read here - With Malice Aforethought. Since you participated in said thread, you may remember it and some of the things you happened to have said.

The title of your OP suggests that what transpired the last day or so "had to go" the direction you took it. I beg to differ.

I suggest that you consider MCB's response to Pahoran and the other participants (such as yourself) while revisiting this other thread. I'd also suggest that you consider what Shades has stated very clearly on this board and in other places. Anyone familiar with Shades knows that he keeps an incredibly even hand while dealing with issues and complaints, and is not afraid to take necessary action where needed. Sadly, some people who are used to wearing helmets to the playground do not understand that this means a higher level of judicial moderating than is required by mass-banning and heavy-handed thread deletion.

Say what you will (and have) about MDB; the evidence is clear who is the more civil in both discourse and action. Bad apples participate on all boards, here being no exception. Nor is MDD an exception either. Canceling the bad apples out from both sides, I suggest that contrasting MCB's actions to yours speaks for itself.

As an aside - Two things I picked up from perusing this and the MDD thread (assuming that Nemesis was joking when he stated something to the effect that he wished they could ban 100% of MDB participants from MDD. Otherwise, that would be three):

1 - Nevo remains the classiest Mormon participant on the boards

2 - Mountain biking/just about everything that involves living in real life Trump's mo-boards (props to Zeez for keeping things in their proper perspective)

Timothy R. Berman,

It's a good idea that when an idiot is making an ass of himself, just get out of his way and let him carry on.

This is me getting out of your way.

Amen. I have long thought so.

Dr. Cam...

I think picking on this guy's wife is unfair and cruel. :-(

Could you please edit your comment out?

His Facebook photos were public. I simply linked to them.

I was trying to figure out the guy.

Why would a guy who is married, has two kids, and leaves his life wide open on the internet and makes it easy to find from his boastful siggy on yonder board, why would a guy like this write poorly written smut that was obviously not about his wife and also be so boastful about his amateur mo'pologetics?

So posting a link to everything he posts on his MD&D siggy was in an effort to see the big picture of Tim.

I decided to take the links down after several ladies here protested it.

I see now that Tim has locked his Facebook account down, which he should have in the first place.. There are so many unwitting non technical people out there...

After looking at all the pieces of Tim's online persona I came to the conclusion that he is your typical wannabee mo'pologist. Out of work, thinks he is a fabulous writer/researcher, spends most of his time online as a narcissistic Mormon defender. He reminds me of Pa-Pa and why-me.

I also have noticed that he has taken his fantasy story "At the Ocean" down. Thankfully Google cache has a copy for those just tuning in..

Anywho, Timmy, the internet is a big place where cruel truth is king. You best have your crap polished and inline before you foist it upon the world.

And stop with the persecution complex. DCP made shallow physical threats here and yes we rode him hard on those. Will is the latest one to be ridden into the ground. You are not the first narcissistic Mormon defender to get rode hard and put away wet, and you won't be the last.

Now then, tuck in your shirt, clip on your fake tie, and go do what you are expected to do today on the holy sabbath.
