The recent MDB "vacation" (Telling? I think so)

Post by _Ceeboo »

Hello people,

First, I wanted to express how pleased I am to see the MDB back up and running. One of the hidden treasures (concerning the recent "break" that MDB had) is that I have realized how I had taken this board for granted.

I have very little to offer concerning SGW, so I will not even attempt to begin (There are times, in my opinion, that the subject matter is simply not worthy of the time and effort required). This, is clearly one of those times (again, my opinion).

What I do find very worthy of the time, pespectives offered, discussion, and digestion of this community is the response/reaction by other boards/communities.
(This, I found to be entirely interesting and indeed fascinating on many levels)

The one comment (Only one, of many, by design) I will make concerning my friends at MADB is that I found their thread (SWG's OP regarding MDB) to be enormously telling concerning what was being typed and I would suggest that it was equally telling (if not more so) in regards to what was not being posted (The silence struck me as alarming and deafening). I would have liked to respond to many who quoted me, but as MADB would have it, it seems to have been locked after they were finished speaking) LOL!

Anyhooo, a very, very, very telling few days to be sure (in my opinion)

Peace,
Ceeboo

Hey, Ceeboo-

Glad to see you back. How would you characterize the responses to MDB going offline? Would you share your observations?

You too, friend.

How would you characterize the responses to MDB going offline?

I would say they covered the entire spectrum.

Would you share your observations?

For my own personal reasons, I will share a mere few (I hope that you understand/appreciate that)

I would say that my observation of the boards (Infymus/Foyer) were most gracious and I found it pretty cool that they welcomed many people from MDB who needed a place to be heard, share, and gather during an uncertain time (Kinda reminded of the saying about knowing who you can really count on when things get a little sticky)

I would say that my observation of the MADB (Short version for many reasons) was that there was a clear rush to judgement, broad brush paintings being trotted out, judgements being made upon an entire diverse community of people, and perhaps one of the worst displays of self righteous arrogance I have seen on these boards. (And that's the "short" version)

Thanks, Ceeboo. Those were my impressions as well.

Bump! (I wonder if it is good form to bump your own OP? :))

Putting SGW aside:
No one else found any of this to be interesting/telling?

Huh? (Y'all suck!) :)
