I think it is entirely possible that someone over there is doing some of this in order to provoke further conflict. I am sure there are a number of people who would happily stir the pot like this. Some of them probably have little to do with this board.

I don't know the motivation, but for example:

Other harassment this board has been faced with is done electronically with persistent ddos attacks on our server. We have had to take measures against it, but they are not fool proof and will eventually fail when the attacks evolve. This has also been initiated by a poster from Mormon discussions who is associated with the said group performing the attacks.

That is pretty baseless. Ddos attacks are a federal crime (it's fraud and abuse), if they know who was doing it, they wouldn't play coy about it.

Yes. I know where the suspicion probably comes from, but based on what they have said there, I can't see any way of being confident to the point that they would essentially declare war, as it were.
