Don't make Joseph a martyr by banning him. Shunning is the way to go on this. We can easily just ignore him. Most of us ignored him just fine before all of this happened. Let's not sink ourselves to the level of the aptly named MAD board in this time of crisis.

But, Eric, ignoring him doesn't prevent him from dropping a DMCA claim on us at any time.

Did dreamhost tell you about counter notices, which means dreamhost must allow the offending material if a counter-notice is sent, then it is up to the offended person to actually send legal notice of a lawsuit before the host can be required to take the material down.

thought the DMCA does not apply in Canada, non-AMerican western countries have draconia defamation laws.

Better to stay in the US and learn to file counter-notices to DMCA claims.

Why would I or my brother file a DMCA action here? You have me confused with the porn writer. You aren't stealing our photos... now the Deseret News, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Brigham Young University, Intellectual Reserve, Inc. and other LDS holdings.... that may well be a different story.

It is NOT site administration who is stealing and posting the photos of others, it is a few of the 'honest' people doing it here.

I think we're dealing with the same kind of thought process here. If I recall correctly, Joseph thinks he's some kind of important photographer. Maybe he thinks that he can get some money for his pictures of airplanes and whatever other neat things he photographs by policing the Internet for copyrighted pictures. Or maybe he's just finally found a way for more of us to pay attention to him. I still think shunning is the way to go on this.
