I think folks who disagree with Nemesis should cease posting on MDD out of principle. The moderating there is capricious. MDD board moderators refer to posters on this board as "those people" and group us together as one worthless bundle.
I do wish that Chris Smith, Mortal Man, Mike Reed, cksalmon and others posting on MDD would stop supporting Nemesis by contributing to his message board.
Before they migrated to their new location and became MDD, I had decided I'd had enough. It had gotten to the point where I only posted on MADB on occasion, and I found it incredibly stifling. So, I have not participated in MDD. I can't recall whether I even bothered to register.
For those who are seriously involved in Mormon Studies, that may be a tall order. I think it would be a fine statement to make, but I don't think we can expect the serious Mormon Studies folk to do it. No matter how restrictive the environment over there may be, it is still probably somehow beneficial to be there for those who want to show a desire to work with LDS scholars in a positive way.

This, coming from a little kid who is still in school eating hot lunch at round tables and knows nothing of the real world.
1) I would never have known anything about this had "nemesis" not created such a stink. I would have had no idea what juliann looked like or even that there was a series of meme's devoted to her had this person, nemesis, not decided to provide a link for all of us who are too busy to follow every MAD board drama...That said, why in the world would you provide an in real life picture of yourself online if you are considered a somewhat egotistical/controversial/petty person among any group (no matter how small)? How stupid can you be?
2) This whole SGW/nemesis/Julianne thing has reminded me of all the other great sites that i have been neglecting over the last couple years....Flak always warms my heart and their treatment of SB and Droopy was hilarious...I think its funny that these people at the MAD board need to create a controversy to boost their ratings...they seem so insecure...Like they actually really care what a bunch of internet apostates say about them, because, really, who else cares about these people?

I simply don't believe SGW is the most likely culprit and furthermore that whodunnit is really beside the point. The important question is how I reacted.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy. eritis sicut dii I support NCMO

asbestos, I don't know why you are beating yourself up here. You're a good guy. So you don't jump on every denunciation bandwagon. Big frickin' deal. I'm sure life will afford you further opportunities to prove your fairness to the MDD crew. Heaven knows whoever did these things bore the same kind of responsibility and expectations of good behavior as Will Schryver, endowed LDS Melchizedek priesthood holder and self-appointed champion of the Book of Abraham. Shame on you for not excoriating this anonymous malefactor with equal vehemence. Surely that person let every fellow follower of Christ down, seeing how well you know that person, whoever it may be, and whatever that person might believe or not.

Nemesis wrote:Absolutely, and my conscience is clear enough I sleep well at night also. The major difference is we have never participated in a staged attack on their group. We have left them alone.
Who's "we"? Has Nemesis forgotten the Mr. Itchy blog? The notion that posters here are planning out well-coordinated attacks on apologists is quite silly, but even if it were true, Nemesis's comment would be gross hypocrisy in light of Skinny-L, SHIELDS, the well-organized structure of FAIR and FARMS, etc. And most of these organizations have been around a lot, lot longer than MDB. In other words: Nemesis has no evidence for "staged" attacks, but there is a ton of evidence that the Mopologists have been doing it for decades.

MDB and MDD. Wow. Talk about two extremes. On MDB you could go to Shades' house and take a dump in his corn flakes and he would still let you register here to brag about it. On MDD, you breathe wrong and you're toast... a forgotten memory.
lol, how disgusting is it that sometimes after changing our youngest kid's diaper I will continue to eat and drink. For the record, I believe my hands have remained clean and this only occurs in settings such as a park or something like that but it does make me question myself.
