I do wish that Chris Smith, Mortal Man, Mike Reed, cksalmon and others posting on MDD would stop supporting Nemesis by contributing to his message board.

Chris really, you want to make excuses for them and the culture of that board. Go back over there and you can stay over there if you are going to act like nothing is wrong with that board.

I think Nemesis and his fellow mods are are sorely tempted to ban Chris but they fear the people because of Chris' excellent reputation and popularity among critics and apologists alike.

As for myself, I was sorely tempted to propose a boycott of that board after my last suspension. As it is, my participation there has severely declined and I will never again put serious effort into any post, knowing that I can and will be silenced at any given moment.

And if the mods feel like it, an entire thread can be deleted: all to make the world safe for truth, of course. Delicate stuff, truth. It can rarely stand up to falsehood without a Juliann to flip the 'off' switch if necessary.

The clipping service sounds like the counterpoint to the Favorite MDB Quotes thread here. You reap what you sow.

To me, it sounds suspiciously similar to what the Church called its own up-to-that-point secret organizaton, the Strengthening Church Members Committee.

It's just a "clipping service."

In 1993, apostle Dallin H. Oaks characterized the committee as a "clipping service" that "may have monitored speeches, writings and activities of those suspected of apostasy and passed on material to church officials."

Alas, the old Pundits forum was the shining star and most worthwhile reason to visit that board. My enthusiasm for that place dropped precipitously when Nemesis bulldozed it under.

I'm not really sure what DanG/Nemesis is after at this point. His ego has obviously grown by leaps and bounds, stating that "he" has single-handedly provided such a utopia for the MDD community. It looks like Juliann may have abdicated too much power his way. That will be for her and her minions to work out.

At any rate, if he is after some sort of action on our part, I'm not sure what more he can expect. We have, as a group, condemned the posting of the Memes. We have even reported them, and encouraged those who created them (if those folks even post on MDB) to remove the offensive ones.

If this issue is REALLY simply about the Juliann memes, the case should be closed. If it isn't, then what else would satisfy DanG/Nemesis and Juliann et. al?

As far as the Schryver issue was concerned, all we were really looking for was a public apology for his actions, which he refused to give.

We have all publicly apologized and condemned the Juliann Meme action, even though we aren't even sure who created the Memes to begin with!

What more do they want?

If DanG's board war is still ensuing, then it is more about just this isolated issue, and he is spewing BS if he is stating otherwise.

So, DanG, since I know you read here.....

What is it, specifically, that you want from us? Or do you just want MDB to cease to exist?

A lot of people have condemned posting memes with obscene material and abuse of her private life.

I don't think anybody here has apologized for anything. Why should they? I don't think anybody here claims to have posted obscene stuff about Juliann.

My suspicion, hinted at above, is that Nemesis will not be satisfied until he has "clipped" and forwarded offending posts to the SCMC and "banned" all LDS malefactors from the records of the Church.

The "you reap what you sow" wasn't meant to be directed at you. Perhaps I should have put it on a separate line? I really have no idea about the extent of your participation there.

Kishkumen posted to that thread 0 times. Trevor may have made some comments on there a long time ago, but I don't even recall them. The point is that I do not make a habit of engaging in such shenanigans, and I don't appreciate the general menacing tone of the rogue moderator at MDD.

In any case, they could (but possibly won't) also bring the WS thread by MsJack as justification for their counter-thread. If we have a thread documenting Will's faults, I think it's only fair to expect them to document ours.

As you point out, Will was taken to task for his misbehavior here. No one banned him. No legal action was threatened or taken. The only people waving legal threats around are on MDD. Why is that? I'll tell you why, because that board is a disaster. If it were the "success" that Nemesis suggests, there would be no need to lie about cyber attacks and issue threats about possible legal action.

I'm not going to pretend that they're worse than what's happened here if they don't happen to target only those who participated (much or little) in those particular threads on WS or MADB quotes.

You know the difference? Here we may have bad apples acting on their own and doing questionable things (something that has not, in this case, even been proven), but there the bad apples are in charge. I say that is much worse. My point is self evident in what is happening.
