"The chickens have come home to roost"

This is really quite simple. If you allow bigots, misogynists, anti-Mromons, and atheists to post to their dark heart's content, what do you really suspect would happen? You get pornography, you get illegal harassment, and the eternal jealousy of the cold man who looks in through the window to the warmth of the spirit.

The culture here is toxic. I draws out the worst of people. You get good people like pa pa, William Schryver, and Pahoran over here and before long they bray like the pigs that wallow here. You people taunt and sling crap until one of them snaps and makes a mildly snide remark and they are classified as dirty.

So free and open speech about Mormon topics--the definition of this Board--is 'toxic', it 'draws out the worst of people'. So if one wanted to avoid the toxicity and not draw out the worst in people, either Mormon topics must be made off limits or you must control people's speech about Mormonism topics. I think that damns Mormonism more than you can possibly imagine.

Thanks for the bigotry, SGW.

Pa Pa and Will and Pahoran aren't good people. They're among the worst people who've posted here. They're equally responsible for any of the "toxic" culture, which has been vastly exaggerated and overblown by MADdites in the first place.

In closing, put on your big boy pants and stop whining. It's the internet. People fight on the internet. They do it at MAD too - they just have to do it more passive aggressively. It doesn't change the hostility.

I think you are on the wrong thread. You probably need to repost on the 'Am I responsible for ..." thread.

Or would you like to look back at the OP and respond to it?

I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

You don't know what you're talking about. Pahoran has been a nasty piece of work since he posted on ARM well over a decade ago. Papa is so problematic he was either kicked off MAD or chose to leave in a huff, I'm not sure which one. And Schryver....didn't you just condemn the things he's said? And now you say it was "mildly snide"????
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

It does draw out the worst. Just look around. Look in the mirror. You mock and scorn. Nothing is below you in order to score cheap points. It bemuses me. Why do you people care? You left the Church. Leave it alone and move on.

Free speech is not meant to be used to hurt people, that's why there are specific limits to it in this country. This is right and this is proper. This is the way civilized society gets the job done. "Free speech" is about like "Free love." It can only cheapen you and eventually you will catch a disease.

Do you know Will and Pahoran? As far as I can see, their only real is their disgusting display of woman hating. Other than that, what is there? Responding to sniping comments in a way that cuts to your souls? Speaking the hard truth to those whom may not wish to hear?

I think you misunderstand us. How long have you been out of the Church? Has it been so long that you forgot what it is like to be attacked by ravening bigots all the time? To be harassed and hated for what you believe? Has it been so long?
