Buffalo,

do you have a link that's actually helpful on this topic? Both the links you offer don't offer much. I wonder what is meant by "hate" here. Any ideas?

On average, atheists are smarter than theists.

And yet you still find yourselves persecuted by those rascally, wilely bumpkins who pray to fairy tales. Land O'Goshen, how do you do that?

Majorities often persecute minorities, especially minorities perceived as being radically at odds with cultural norms.

If I were to make a generalization about theists based on your post, I'd say theists are both dense and hyper-sensitive about it. But I know better than that. ;)

Not really. What does that have to do with American attitudes about atheists?

Of course you would, that's all you have. Until this latest ingredient you've put into the stew. Can you give any examples where Christians are persecuting atheists? As it happens, these last few weeks I've been visiting over 20 states and I have yet to see any atheists pummelled over the head with a Bible, or anything resembling that. Where is this phantom persecution supposed to be occurring?

Of course, this really has nothing to do with my OP, which is about attitudes, not actions.

This is really your evidence? And you decry Christians for emotionalism? I expect better from you.

I did a quick google search. I don't really care - it's not part of my topic, and as an atheist I don't feel particularly discriminated against, but then again, that's not really what I was talking about in my OP.

More calm than you, bro.
