I think bcspace is absolutely correct.

We should immediately place a ban on criticism of the LDS Church.

Didn't imply that at all.

You didn't imply it. You stated it explicitly.

Will not happen until the trashing of the LDS Church ceases

Doesn't follow. Actual criticism and trashing are two separate things. Perhaps if you had said invective....

As a board poster/member I really don't care what some other board/mod thinks or writes about this board. It is none of their business.

This board should be free to be whatever it collectively wants to be within it's own guidelines of operation.

Boundaries people, I know Mormons struggle with this, but that doesn't mean boundaries don't exist.
I suggest other boards mods go away and worry about themselves and their posters.

I agree that we need take no account of what a moderator of another board, speaking in his or her capacity as a moderator of that board, says to us.

If of course Nemesis was to start posting here, his voice would then (like Pahoran's voice) become one of the voices that Dr. Shades will no doubt take into account when deciding whether he wants to make any modifications in the basic policy of this board, or in the ways it is operated.

It seems to me, most posters over on that board don't pay any attention to this board. On the flip side, many posters over here pay tons of attention to that board. Most posters over there don't have a thing to say about this place, although I have seen some comments here and there. Many posters here have nothing but caricatured ideas about that board and the majority of those who post over there.

The board war is mostly in the minds of many of the posters here, along with in the mind of Nemesis and a few others over there. Many posters here act as if they are the "red-headed step-child" of that board. I don't get it because the freedom given here, the potential here, is far more than there, I think.

If posters here could just ignore them, generally, as they ignore the posters here, we'd be much better off.

Hey Stem,

The main posters on that board (including the "senior administrator") pay A LOT of attention to this board.

On the flip side, many posters over here pay tons of attention to that board.

Perhaps that is because there are many posters on this board that used to belong to that board (Had realtionships, history, friendships, etc) And now, in many cases, find that they are silenced to answer/share/communicate as they have lost the privlege to do so.

Most posters over there don't have a thing to say about this place

Of the "main players" there, I can not think of a single one who would fit your suggestion.

Many posters here have nothing but caricatured ideas about that board and the majority of those who post over there.

Again, you seem to completely miss the mark.
Many posters here have far more then "caricatured ideas" about that board. They have much experience and history with that board because many have spent enormous time on (and with the poeople of) that board as members of that community.

The board war is mostly in the minds of many of the posters here,

With respect for your opinion, I would suggest that is utter nonsense.

as they ignore the posters here

Whaaaaaa?
Seriously?

Ignore it, forget it, and quit bringing it attention. If discussion is wanted, discuss.

So we know Nemesis has paid attention lately, but who are these "main posters" you speak of? I'm quite curious. You seem to know far more than I'm able to observe.

Perhaps that is because there are many posters on this board that used to belong to that board (Had realtionships, history, friendships, etc) And now, in many cases, find that they are silenced to answer/share/communicate as they have lost the privlege to do so.

Perhaps so. But the fact remains--there are plenty who pay a lot of attention and bring a lot of negative attention to that board over here. Indeed, some person I never knew started mocking me over here before I ever came here--plain out of the blue, from what I can tell. This pretty much makes your explanation to justify a rather silly one--at least very much caricaturized generalizations. But oh well. I'm not too bothered by any of it. Just pointing out my observations. Your view seems heavily biased. But I'll leave that to what it is...I don't know.

Of the "main players" there, I can not think of a single one who would fit your suggestion.

Who are the main players in your mind? Nemesis and Pahoran? I don't think I've seen much else from posters over there commenting on this place. Will? When he posts there. A couple of other comments. Nothing near what goes on here, of course, in terms of mocking, deriding and villifying, or even alluding to this place.

Again, you seem to completely miss the mark.

I disagree with you of course. I attempted some time ago to draw some parallels between posters there and here. What came of it? Tons of offense over here. I see plenty of similarities and so I said so. The main complaint, it seems, aside from the moderating, about that place is generalized statements about the posters over there being stupid.

With respect for your opinion, I would suggest that is utter nonsense.

Well, of course you think that.

Whaaaaaa?
Seriously?

Peace,
Ceeboo

For the most part, I think its true that the posters there ignore what goes on here, including what people are saying. I have no idea why you think otherwise. You talk about the main posters over there. And I have no idea who you have in mind, with the exception of Nemesis, who doesn't post all that much, and Pahoran. Who else is a main poster?

Quite eager to learn where your perspective comes from, if you would...

It might be because, until recently, you weren't allowed to directly reference the name of this place or link to it. That's probably still the rule, but Nemsis doesn't seem to follow it.

So you are assuming that posters over there largely ingore this place because they can't say the name of this place, or link to it on that board?
