Mormons think "The Testaments" is quality film making, so I wouldn't trust their opinions.

Maybe you were not paying attention. When he denied both Polygamy and Eernal Progression many of us who were active, holding callings, were quite concerned. That he did not clarify his denials only make it worse. Many I know who were concerned are no longer active or have gone totally away now. It started them asking questions since "a prophet of God" was denying core doctrines.

Except it is very unlike us. I haven't heard any LDS complain about President Hinckley's interviews on TV or all the news broadcasts about us or the tongue-in-cheek appraisal of our religion by South Park in the famous hell scene or coverage of the Osmonds or.....I think you get the point.

i might be lost to your point, but, if you post is serious, then you have never asked a Mormon about Hinckley's, statements (two, Mike Wallace and Larry King) about caffeine.

No, I watched it.

When he denied both Polygamy and Eernal Progression many of us who were active, holding callings, were quite concerned.

I was active and held a calling. I was not concerned.

That he did not clarify his denials only make it worse.

That is what that 'Holy Ghost' thing is for.

Many I know who were concerned are no longer active or have gone totally away now. It started them asking questions since "a prophet of God" was denying core doctrines.

Ahhh, the seeds that fell on hard ground, sprung up, but had no root. A faith so easily destroyed is going to inevitably be destroyed.

I have. As I sit here drinking Mountain Dew I remember discussing those statements. I've reached my decision.

The choicest of believers are unconcerned when the Lord's representative lies on national television.

People, even outsiders find Mormonism interesting but L-DSers don't seem to appreciate it. Look at the list of (Mormon) hits.

1. Big Love: they hate it.
2. South Park Mormon episode: they hate it.
3. Book of Mormon musical: they hate it.

What do they expect? A missionary discussion?

The only times, to be fair, I've heard any LDS mention any of these outside this internet world we spend so much time in and skew our perceptions, was when a friend notified me of the South Park episode with glee, thinking it was funny. He is LDS. Another time a group of friend's started talking about the Big Love show when it began a couple years ago and decided they aren't very interested in watching it, plus it was on a channel none of them had. After that, no mention from any of them. And finally, my wife expressed interest the other night in the musical since it's getting critical acclaim. But it was a passing mention that didn't express much of anything, other than a "I wonder what its like".

I don't know if "hate" is the right word. Perhaps indifference? Or apathy? They seem to work a little better.
