Family Issues

Post by _Mercury »

My wife and I have separated as of Friday night. I'm sitting here in a daze posting resumes all over. Fathers day was yesterday and I didn't see my kids nor talk with them. Life pretty much sucks right now. She has agreed to ask my permission concerning their eventual perceived need to be baptized at eight. I sit here in Murray while my wife is in Provo. The last two months have been hell.

In all this messed up past 4 months I have been asking myself why an organization that claims to be family oriented is breaking up mine. Stalwarts like my wife are steadfast in their definition of trust and see no qualms with redefining it based on allegiance to a tin god.

Sorry Mercury. What an awful situation to go through. What type of job are you looking for?

I cannot explain the perceived need to break a family over religious differences. This is unquestionably wrong.

IT, specifically network management or engineering. I'd take a screwdriver jockey job (computer repair) if it pays the bills.

I think I know how much you love your babies. I am sorry to hear that this Father's Day was impacted by the event of your separation. Of course, the children might not even be aware of this special day, I know it probably cuts you in half.

I know where Provo is, but I don't know where Murray is. Are you still in the same state as your family?

Take good care,

My sincere condolences. Religion should never be a deal breaker between a husband and wife.

Murray is a suburb of SLC and about 25 mile or so from Provo

Merc, no advice for you at all other than to say I am thinking about you and wishing things were different for you.

I wish your wife and you could see past whatever has led to this and let each other be where they need to be. If she is being making it over the Church I hurt for you all the more.

Good, thanks. I won't be asking any more questions on this thread out of respect for Mercury's privacy.

Let me clarify, its not solely about the church. We went out of our way for 5 years to make it work since I have left. Changes in trust cascade throughout a relationships many facets.
