LOL. Don't you mean coffee enemas?

Hi MCB!

I assume that you're referring to the old joke about a nurse giving a coffee enema to a coffee addicted patient. "Arrrrggg" he screams. "is that too hot?" she asks. "No, too sweet"!

Is rectally administered caffeine against the WoW?
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Perhaps. And cost countless more the joys of living an abundant life.

Classic.

Of course, it isn't just the WoW that robs some LDS of the joys of living an abundant life, it is the mindset of "duty", enduring to the end, and the very cosmology of Mormonism that pushes the expectation of reward and happiness from this life into the next.

I wonder if many Mormons have merely substituted the "pains of alcoholism" with the pains of obesity and/or prescription pill addiction?

Ah yes, don't drink tea. So what do the idiots do as soon as they get to Utah?

They find and brew 'brigham tea'.

I have seen posts on the subject on RfM. One TBM mother does it regularly, when she is tired, because it is not against the WoW.

Even worse, it counseled people to avoid "hot drinks," which were a great source of safe water.

I was listening to a talk by a Civil War historian on NPR the other day discussing the role of disease in the course of the Civil War. He brought up that many more soldiers would have died of typhus had they not been in the habit of drinking coffee, in the making of which they boiled their water.

Next time a Mormon trumpets the "how could he have known?" defense of the Word of Wisdom, I think asking how the Lord omitted such a simple and effective practice as boiling one's drinking water is a perfectly cromulent.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

The word of wisdom is a sign of obedience.

If it is about obedience, then why is drinking beer a sin (which the WoW allows), but eating a triple cheeseburger is not?

Where I grew up you didn't beat the crap out of some people because you had a couple cheeseburgers but you sure as hell did when you had a couple beers. Every weekend in deadend pgh. Fun yet depressing.

Most people can handle a couple beers without beating up others. In fact, we recently had an office picnic where spouses and kids were invited. There were cheeseburgers and other food, and there was also beer available for the adults. Many people drank a few beers while socializing. No fights broke out.

Most of the people I've known through my life have been people who drank a couple of beers, they range from drinking a couple rarely to frequently. Only once have I seen someone beat the s*** out of someone after a couple of beers, and they had a history of altercation without the beer. Even as a cocktail waitress I saw less fights than I have fingers on one hand.

My company always serves unlimited beer and wine at all company parties, many of which families attend.

I have seen people at these parties get pretty drunk, even with their spouses and kids there and guess what??? NO FIGHTS.

What is with these TBM fools thinking that drinking makes you violent?
