Prior to today, I contributed a total of four quotes to this thread: one from juliann, one from jwhitlock, one from Cold Steel and one from Silver Knight. All of the quotes I contributed were, at the time, provided with links to their originals so that readers could view the context themselves if they so desired.

I also commented on an exchange between krose and LDS Guy 1986 that was posted by malkie sans link. I did not provide a link to this exchange, nor do I believe I looked it up at the time.

Given the claims by Nemesis, 3sheets2thewind, and others that statements on this thread are being taken out of context, I decided to revisit these threads and see if I did any such thing in regards to my posts. I learned that of the four threads I quoted from and linked to, only one was retained when the switch was made from MADB to MDDB (the juliann one). I updated my link there, but I fail to see any context on that thread that would change the meaning of what she said. In fact, I quoted the entirety of juliann's post, and it was her first and only post in the thread. I even told her in the thread itself that I found her post "ridiculous" and "judgmental" (here), which it was. She did not reply.

Since the threads have been deleted, I can't provide absolute proof that I quoted jwhitlock, Cold Steel and Silver Knight appropriately. In the cases of the latter two though, the only "context" that could possibly make their statements any less silly would be if they were altogether joking, which they weren't. I don't recall at all what the context of jwhitlock's quote was, but he was not talking about the moderation policy at MADB, and I obviously quoted it because he might as well have been talking about the moderation at MADB, where things are heavily tilted to give LDS apologists an advantage. So the context is pretty irrelevant there.

Last but not least, the krose / LDS Guy 1986 exchange, which 3sheets2thewind directly claimed was taken out of context: the thread at MDDB is a very long one, so I don't have time to review it, but I see that for both krose and LDS Guy 1986, their posts were quoted in their entirety. So, 3sheets2thewind, would you care to point out this context that allegedly changes what they are saying? Here is the thread:

Wiggle room for changing church teaching - krose

Wiggle room for changing church teaching - LDS Guy 1986

Thanks in advance.

That is funny stuff.

And this one from Daddy G:

I remember a talk where someone was called to be a Partiarch and did not have hands. He was told to give a blessing with what he had...

Well, I can't mention what immediately came to mind.

No, it's Kimberly Ann's cat, "Tarzan," wearing his cone thanks to a recent surgery.

It is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Thank you for the compliment, Deborah. '...out of content,...puerile...and no argument that will stand.'

You nailed it on the head!

Here's one for ya:
There is no such thing as a "green tea deficiency". Green/black tea comes from the same plant Camellia sinensis and you forget that the Word of Wisdom is a spiritual commandment. Despite the positive polyphenol content it is quite possible that this plant "dampens/suppresses" the spirit. in my opinion of course, but look at the countries who consume this plant in abundance - G-d is far from their minds.

Countries that drink tea are far from G-d? (by the way what the heck is up with this G-d crap? D- y-u pinheads really believe that the sky daddy weeps if y-u add that extra O to make it a c-mplete w-rd? Als- G-d, g-d, l-rd, etc. is n-t the name -f the deity y-u w-rship. It's a w-rd, n-t his dammit name!)

Yes critics of Mormons are the ones without a valid argument (see my signature).

Even when I was a believer, I thought MAD was full of crazy people making very poor arguments in defense of the faith. This thread just catalogs some of that.
