Go figure. I can't believe King County didn't build the Supersonics (not the Sonics, by the way) an arena. I truly believe well-built, lavish arenas end up paying for themselves many times over. One can't overestimate the value for one's city vis a vis television and marketing when it comes to an NBA franchise.
While I agree I think the billionaire owners should foot 1/2 the bill. (Especially in the NFL but most of the NBA owners have money to burn, the Maloof owners of Sacramento not withstanding.)
