Nope, I'm at a complete loss. Fill me in, will ya?

Hmmm...just been through Preach My Gospel (the manual missionaries use to teach investigators) and I can't find anything about:
Special Underwear
Polygamy in the Celestial Kingdom
Women have to veil their faces for prayers
Young Men shouldn't marry girls of a different race
The oaths you have to commit to in the Temple
God was once a man (even Hinckley was too embarrassed to talk about that one in public...)
Adam is Michael
Joseph didn't live up to the Word of Wisdom
Using a stone in a hat to translate the Book of Mormon
Etc
Etc
Etc

Religion is doing what you are told, regardless of what is right.

I love your posts. You're one of the better posters on this board.

Think of it, an active Latter-day Saint who, for face and public purpose, holds himself out to be a believing temple goer, on the one hand, and posts the inanity you post. What character! What verve!

Why the personal attack on Joseph? He gave a perfectly good example of a well known Mormon who dodged answering a question about his faith.

I have found the ability to be much more open about my beliefs to non-members now that I am not viewing everybody in the world as a prospective convert.

All the Best!

Some of these items are on their way to extinction as far as the Church is concerned. Those select item's only hold on the Church rests on their having been written down without rescission.

Being a space god has an archetypal appeal to the id in all of us. However, if it is held to be overly embarrassing then it will cease to be within the Church. On the other hand, it may end up as the gamy Meat on the non-dairy private reserve menu.

I'm always amused by Mormons who won't talk about the things they believe in public. They will admit to being Christians, but if you bring up space gods, polygamous prophets, and blacks being evil in the pre-existence,they clam up and try to change the subject. That's why I love to talk to Mormons around non-Mormons; if you bring up one of these things they start to squirm and want to deny what you are saying, but no they can't because their bat**** insane church really does teach them all that nonsense.

I'm not ashamed of any of our doctrine. Though if you refer to it in misleading terms as per the above, even after being corrected, I might be less amenable to discussing it with you and more likely to dismiss you as an uneducated hick.

I see nothing in the OP that would need to be "corrected".

All of this and more (including Garden of Eden in Missouri, Zelph, Kolob, and Reformed Eqyptian used in ancient America, as well as far less than honest "approved" accounts of the Book of Abraham, "martyrdom" of Joseph Smith, the "First Vision", encounter with Professor Anthon, and the "translation" of the Book of Mormon) was taught in my seminary classes.

What "corrections" did you have in mind?

That's because you're more interested in yellow journalism than what our doctrine actually is.
