And isn't Gaga an inactive mo? If I recall correctly, I thought I read that somewhere..

What's going to happen when strong blue states like California, Oregon, and Washington legalize gay marriage? Alot of Mormons in those states it seems. Next up will be libertarian havens like Colorado and Nevada. After that...

What's going to happen when the majority of Americans will have access to gay marriage? Ah!

More conservative than Utah? Does such a place exist? (Deep South maybe?)

(I'm in KY which is pretty conservative but not as bad as some places. PM me if you don't want to say on board.)

Ha. Got me. Idaho probably is more conservative because there are fewer large cities (especially considering Utah's Salt Lake City as a growing liberal area). Wyoming would be the same level of conservatism (although Wyoming does have some libertarian segments but a lot of fiscal conservatism).

Yep, Idaho is to gay marriage what Alabama was to the crime of voting while black.

Funny, I thought that the outcome in California would influence the rest of the states, according to the bretheren's prophetic insight. I recall many church meetings, including a sacrament being devoted to prop 8 in my YSA ward. That was probably about the time I quit attending all together. Having church services devoted wholly to prop 8, putting up donation tables in the relief society room, passing out and practically forcing members to sign up for making calls, going door to door, waving signs on the freeway, passing out signs for the yard, bumper stickers etc. was all very sickening. I ended up signing up for everything and putting down alot of hours with the intent to never go or do a thing and leave them one man out every time it showed my name.

To be honest, if I was in support of prop 8 and participated, I would be quite upset by the obvious PR move to shut the hell up and stay silent over the other more recent gay marriage laws passed both outside and in the U.S. The church is in it for the Lord, only if it is benefiting. Standing for something... lol.

I think it would be more fair to say that the religious right was strangely silent on this, including, but not limited to Mormons.

The gay agenda is one step at at time. The pressure will come eventually. And then we will see people singing a different tune.

Their was no proposition before the electorate. And there was a reason for that. Any proposition that would have approved of same sex marriage would have been voted down. However, if one does it this way, undemocratically, there is a better chance of a win for the same sex marriage side.

Church members would have been involved if there were a proposition about same sex marriage.

Since decisions are being made in cigar smoked rooms without the democratic process of voter participation it should be no surprise that such decisions are made in state assemblies.

You should be more concerned about the lack of a participatory demcracy in America.
