Yeah. Agreed. However, that gut-wrenching feeling is something I avoid. At one time, I would have a panic attack every time I got close to THINKING about Mormonism. After I was told that LDS were primarily responsible for what had happened, it took at least six months before I could specify who "they" were.

People here have been mystified about where I am coming from, psychologically, because I am nevermo. Quasi experienced about the closest to what I experienced, and that was relatively mild.

It can be terribly troubling on the one hand,

I hesitate to express what and why I experienced it, becuse of the reaction from the radical faction. They react, then I react back with anger. Not the way to go. I have to write fairly clinical, because I don't want to get into TBM-ish thinking, with whining (think why me). It is repulsive.

My son just posted:

Hey, I think there is such a thing as too much information. Keep it simple.

That's the very first lesson that one absolutely MUST learn on the road to becoming a good writer.

Pulled some emotional stuff out that I was not ready to express when I first wrote it.

In the future, you must get ready to express it BEFORE you put fingers to keyboard. 100% ready. When writing, you may hold nothing back.

However, that gut-wrenching feeling is something I avoid.

The "gut-wrenching feeling" is the very thing that'll translate your writing into good writing. If you avoid it, you'll avoid becoming a great writer.

I hesitate to express what and why I experienced it, becuse of the reaction from the radical faction.

Remember, you're not writing to the radical faction. You're writing to your readers.

Good points. Too many educators are desperately trying to stay politically correct by ignoring all the issues. That is one reason why during job-hunting season I apply to everything available in the state. Of course, in this state, there is still the memory of the Strangite invasion, so it is much safer.
