Could you pin these to the top, please?

They are scared I would get nasty with some of the rambunctious sexuality in the telestial. Plus I am a neverMo.

This could be taken several different ways.
I voted YES. As a nevermo, MCB would dance in the middle between the TBMs and the Exmos. A balanced view. Certainly bright enough to handle the job.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I like to leave things open for interpretation. Part of it is that my attitude is congruent with admirable LDS ethical standards. However, I am not judgmental. People for various reasons might not want that lifestyle. So, they have the right to go in other paths. Who knows-- maybe it endocrinal.Quasimodo wrote:MCB wrote:They are scared I would get nasty with some of the rambunctious sexuality in the telestial. Plus I am a neverMo.

I am not deeply steeped in LDS culture. That is one reason why I use the word TBM-ish to describe some negative LDS cultural characteristics.

I still vote yes!

Re: Should MCB become a moderator?
Definitely a no for MCB. She has emotional issues against Mormons in general, and uses the term "mormonish" when she wishes to insult or express (what she perceives as )negative behavior or traits of individuals. I've had personal experience and when I asked her to explain and define "mormonish" so I would understand the reason for the obvious(based on context) intended insult, I was met with silence. Not exactly an ideal choice to moderate a "mormon-exmormon" board.

I think that MCB would do fine as a Moderator. You, yourself, have gotten into heated discussions and insulted the Mormon Church, and Mormon doctrine. However, you were a good Mod. You knew when to "speak as a man" and when to "act in Mod mode".
I think that MCB has that same ability.

There is a difference between being critical of the church, its history, its practices, how it is run versus having a general overall negative attitude about Mormons collectively and as individuals in how they think and behave.
And what does heated discussions have to do with anything? I haven't said she gets into heated discussions. She's passive aggressive. That is she is dishes out critical comments, then walks away from warranting those comments because she doesn't like heated discussions.
MCB has expressed having negative personal experiences with Mormons, and quite significant apparently which has caused her to have issues against Mormons generally. And I believe she has said she is still working on this. Whether they are legitimate issues or not ..I don't know.
But when she uses the word "mormonish" meant as a slur against Mormons, even when she's using it against never or ex -Mormon individuals in my opinion it reflects that she still has emotional baggage against Mormons as individuals and collectively, not yet worked out.
And as to your point that she could separate mod function versus personal voice...I really don't think so. As I said she's passive aggressive, she reacts to posts she disagrees with by insulting or dishing out pot shots, but doesn't explain herself. That's not a cool level headed approach, which is what you said you are looking for in a mod.
