Another reminder why I shouldn't take you seriously. What's next? Jeff Lindsay?

Jeff Lindsay has some very valid points.

What's next for you? Ed Decker?

I hate Ed Decker. I think I might have figured things out years earlier had I not read his stupid book. I figured if that was the worst they could do, the church was safe.

Again, I realize you don't intend to discuss things seriously but lob silly sound bites. I'm sorry I forgot my rule of thumb regarding you.

He was "Elder" back then. (Or maybe just "Brother.") It may not be considered "modest" now, but it was modest enough then. The point is that he still lives in the first home he and his wife had. "Tithing Trough" Harmony has snarled about him giving it up since his children have left the nest and he doesn't need that much space any more. Evidently she's never heard of grandchildren coming to stay with the grandparents.

And just how "exclusive" was that area all those years ago?

Runtu wrote:Also, even at today's real-estate prices, modest homes in Utah are nowhere near the value of his home. Mind you, I don't have a problem with his having a nice house in an exclusive part of town, but it's not accurate to say he has a modest home. President Kimball's home on Laird Avenue was modest. President Packer's is not.

I understand he at some point purchased an adjoining bit of unimproved land. I'm sure that, with the subsequent increase in RE values, that all helps to up-value his estate.

I'm sure he's not the only landowner in Utah who is asset-rich while being relatively income-poor.

The point is that "Tithing Trough" Harmony is spitting with rage and envy because a man approaching the end of his life has managed to build up something worth leaving to his descendants. A reasonable thing for any father to want to do, I think.

Sigh. We've been over this before, but harmony is impervious to reason when it comes to her oft-expressed snarling contempt for the leaders of the Church.

I've been a guest in President Packer's home. I spent a couple of hours talking with him one Sunday morning at his invitation, and then, before I left, he showed me his workshop.

His house is fairly large, but by no means "huge" or even particularly unusual, and it's also decades old and pretty simple. My own house (which may be just about as large) is nicer and much newer, as is every house on my street and the two adjacent streets. President Packer's home is, by a considerable distance, the oldest and simplest on his street. I was struck by how un-lavish it was. Quite ordinary. Even, yes, modest.

Are you sure about that?

It's been years since I was there, and, although I remember the house rather well, I don't remember precisely where it was nor how to get there. But I could swear that it's somewhat southeastward in the Salt Lake Valley, relatively close to the mountains but nowhere near Hogle Zoo, and not in a canyon (secluded or otherwise).

That's exactly how I feel with critics.

Same old, same old debunked arguments.

Never anything new.

Oh man I know, Ed Decker is totally relevant to modern criticisms from the secular arena. Whew! Thank God there is the FAIRwiki where we can all steal content from and present as our own, amirite?

I never knew the Uncles and cousins. As far as Mormon morons and dark skin, According to the 3rd president of the Mormon church, John Taylor, Cain's curse of a dark skin marks the representatives of the Devil:

“And after the flood we are told that the CURSE that had been pronounced upon Cain was continued through HAM'S WIFE, as he had married a wife of that seed. And why did it pass through the flood? because it was necessary that the DEVIL SHOULD HAVE A REPRESENTATION upon the earth as well as God;...” (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 22, page 304)
(Moderator Note) Joseph--Please refrain from racist comments in the Terrestrial Forum. This is your last warning. Do it again and you will be suspended for a week. Liz

The point is that he(paranoid-boyd) still lives in the first home he and his wife had.

So when he owned his home in Lindon, he owned two homes at the same time? It was a pretty good sized house. Way more than most in the area could afford. Must have gotten a good salary filling the melonheads with GodzPlan for happiness?

Did know the father in law as well as my grandfather who was in the Pacific in WWII and one soldier I served with in he Army who was killing the yellow assholes when he was 12 years old on Guam. You realise, of course, that all the "Jap bastards" who were calling the shots then are long dead? You aren't hating people who did anything to you (or yours) you are merely hating them because of their race.

But that's not enough to mitigate your hatred, is it?

You do know, don't you, that Boyd K. Packer fought against those who actually caused the trouble in WWII? But that's not enough to mitigate your hatred of him either, is it?

You're really just a bundle of hatreds, aren't you?

And yet you have the temerity to turn around and vomit the following:

JoJoBigot wrote:As far as Mormon morons and dark skin, According to the 3rd president of the Mormon church, John Taylor, Cain's curse of a dark skin marks the representatives of the Devil:

Again, remarkable. A remarkable case of the pot and the kettle.

You really need to get yourself sorted, JoJo.

Pardon me for interrupting your outpourings of gratuitous spite, but while I certainly think it likely that someone is showing signs of abnormal psychology, it isn't President Packer.

When did he live in Lindon?

Please respond if you can do while holding in your hatred for just as long as it takes you to type your answer; otherwise, please don't bother.
