Marg, would you be a better moderator?

Re: Should MCB become a moderator?
Been there done that. It is irrelevant who else would make a "better" mod, unless there were no choices involved. By that I mean that whether I or anyone else makes a good moderator, is not an indication of whether or not you would make a good moderator. If the board has no choice or limited choices then the criteria for mod would not be very important...it's whoever is available and willing. Since there are choices for the reasons I give above I don't think on this board particular board you are well suited to moderate it.
Perhaps now you'd like to explain yourself what you meant by saying I behaved on the board "mormonish". When I asked what you meant by saying that to me as well as Dan, I was met by silence. In fact whenever you posted insults and I asked you to explain I was met by silence. You don't like heated discussions right? I've noted you've used this term "mormonish" elsewhere. To clear things up, please explain what you mean by using the term "mormonish" in the context in which you clearly intend it to be an insult.

Well, this is a tough one. She is quite negative about Mormons and the Mormon church. And Marg brings up some good points. Can MCB handle Mormons on this forum without bias? Since moderators use the same screen name when they are moderators and ordinary posters, we can give her a shot at the job. But she will need to work on her personal bias against everything Mormon, especially if she wants to be a good catholic.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

I don't agree that MCB is passive-aggressive.

That is definitely not my personality type. I tend more towards a dependent personality type. I have been told that it is a very bad mix with passive-aggressive, as my personal testimony illustrates.madeleine wrote:I don't agree that MCB is passive-aggressive.
LOL with Marg.

I think the job of moderator is more about integrity than personal view points. We have TBMs and Exmos already moderating here and I think they do a stellar job.
I see no reason why a nevermo could not rise to the occasion. I've followed MCB's posts for a long time and she has shown nothing but integrity.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Well have you ever been in a discussion with her and disagreed with her? Have you ever been in a discussion with someone else, in which she injects with a critical personal attack ( a number of times) but then doesn't explain herself when asked..as if she's not said anything. This is part and parcel with in my opinion her being a poor communicator. Part of why she interjected with critical comments is because she doesn't like people disagreeing in discussion. Well that's too bad, people in discussion disagree.
As an example in this thread she has an opportunity to explain what she means by "mormonish". She can clear the air on that. I doubt very much that she will, based on what I've observed. She'll freely use the word intended as an insult but won't explain.
Her only remark so far yesterday, has been to question me whether I'd be a good moderator, which has absolutely nothing to do with anything I've said and is not relevant to whether or not she'd be a good moderator for this board.
And by the way, if we need a "never-mo" EA has offered. E.A. has been very insulting to me, but at least it's just me and he doesn't have emotional baggage against Mormons. And i don't think EA is against discussions involving disagreements.

I think your objections to MCB are personal. I'm quite sure that if MCB were to moderate here, she would not allow any personal feelings (such as yours) to influence her judgement.
EA would be fine, as well. There are very few on this board that I would find objectionable. Maybe everyone would do a good job if willing to follow the standards here.
