What is the point of sealing?
After death, everyone is an adult. There are no children in eternity. And since everyone is related to everyone else, what is the point of sealing on top of marriage?
I don't think our leaders have ever thought this one through.

(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Re: What is the point of sealing?
I've thought about this myself:
Also, families are forever. But, your children, and children's children, and your children's children's children will all have endless progressions of progeny. So, really, I guess you only live with your spouse? You don't live with your parents or your children -- they all live with only their spouses as well.
Weird to think about, but I trust God.

I've wondered how that makes sense, myself.

Or they all live together.
So why the need for sealing on top of marriage?
And I trust God too. I just don't trust the men who claim to speak for God.

not correct per Joethecoxman.
" Children dwell in the mansions of glory and exercise power, but appear in the same form as when on earth. Eternity is full of thrones, upon which dwell thousands of children, reigning on thrones of glory, with not one cubit added to their stature."
from the King Follett sermon.

Yeah, they (we) could all live together... but where would the point partition be? How many would be living together in a family unit? That's what is so confusing. Ultimately everyone is related in the Human family... maybe it will be just one massive dwelling? Sounds like a huge party 24/7 to me!

In that case you shouldn't be in the LDS Church.

What if she's personally invested in it to the point that she wants to help change it?

Change to what? The Community of Christ? I think they've made it clear, whether anyone likes it or not, they're not going down that path.
Maybe harmony should join the CoC?
