Maybe this is the world of the future -- there may indeed be a huge surplus of females as males are able to replace most of the functions of women (aside from reproduction) with robots. I just don't think women would want such items to replace men though -- or maybe I am being over optimistic. Then again, women can have children nowadays by going online and ordering the "perfect" male to father her baby. Just take her order in to the doctor and in 9 months have a baby whose father is bright and healthy. You know, eugenics may be ready for a comeback.
