Again thews quote anti-Mormon websites that have cherry-picked and datamined information to look as though the evidence fits their anti-Mormon agenda.

Too bad, thews.

And again, Simon Belmont fails to acknowledge the data presented and throws out the same tired "anti-Mormon" claim as if it means anything. I have posted the data to back up my argument, so either acknowledge it or tuck tail, as your ignorance is transparent.

Simon,

Thews has assembled a pretty devastating data set here. Rather than simply trying to dismiss it as "cherry picked" (Mormon-speak for relevant data), can you actually refute anything in thews' post?

Anything at all?

Nothing?

Thews wrote:"... PURE and delightsome people." (1840 edition)

"...WHITE and delightsome people." (All later translations until 1981)

"... PURE and delightsome people." (1981 translations , II Nephi 30:6)

This interests me, Thews.

So...the original translation was PURE and delightsome, and then it was later changed to WHITE. Do we know exactly when it was changed?

If the case is that the original translation said PURE, then it makes perfect sense that it would be changed back.

As racist as Brigham Young was, I am curious as to when the first change took place. Was it while he was prophet?

Also...do you have a link to the article where you got this information from? I'm really interested in reading more.

It was originally "White and delightsome" before it was changed. From the supposed "most perfect book ever written" it was later changed, changed again, and continues to change.

To Simon's claim that racism was never a part of Mormonism and it's not what Mormons believe, I would think the words of Spencer W. Kimball would suffice in proving him wrong (with data of course).

http://20truths.information/Mormon/prejudice.html
President Spencer W. Kimball described the process through which the church decided to bestow all church privileges upon African-Americans:

"It went on for some time as I was searching for this, because I wanted to be sure. We held a meeting of the Council of the Twelve in the temple on the regular day. We considered this very seriously and thoughtfully and prayerfully.

"I asked the Twelve not to go home when the time came. I said, 'now would you be willing to remain in the temple with us?' And they were. I offered the final prayer and I told the Lord if it wasn't right, if He didn't want this change to come in the Church that I would he true to it all the rest of my life, and I'd fight the world against it if that's what He wanted.

"We had this special prayer circle, then I knew that the time had come. I had a great deal to fight, of course, myself largely, because I had grown up with this thought that Negroes should not have the priesthood and I was prepared to go all the rest of my life till my death and fight for it and defend it as it was. But this revelation and assurance came to me so clearly that there was no question about it." (President Spencer W. Kimball, Deseret News, Church Section, January 6, 1979, p. 19)

You may have explained this before, but bear with me. Why was it changed to PURE and delightsome in 1840? And who authorized the change?

It sounds to me like Ludwig was offended that Pahoran referred to you in that way based on the definition that he found.

I never understood why evil isn't cursed with a heart of blackness, instead of skin of blackness.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Hello Ms. Harmony,

Sex.

Brigham Young said, "The Lord had cursed Cain's seed with blackness and prohibited them the Priesthood." I believe there was something there about killing a woman on the spot if found having sex with a black man... I'd have to search the anti-Mormon Journal of Discourses to find the quote, though.
