Really, no. It was a bad joke.

A cat would be a better choice.

Hello,

I think that's a legitimate reason. By their fruits ye shall know them, and I gotta tell that the Mormon church produces some pretty crappy fruit. Why would someone partake of crappy fruit, and think to himself, "This is definitely my fault for not liking this fruit?" That's insane.

Am I really that much more influential with you than your real-life family and friends? Really?

Are none of your in real life relationships strong enough to assuage your hurt feelings because an anonymous internet poster says things you don't like?

If that's the case, then all I can say is "Oh dear."

Regards,
Pahoran

As I mentioned, and as you've noted, I'd already resolved to move away from the church. You don't have to continue to post the meaning of the word, "resolve"; I've used it correctly in the sentence above.

Are you really that more influential in my life than my family and friends? Of course not. Don't give yourself too much credit. I said some of the things you've said have strengthened my resolve. And Pahoran, that's some things you've said over the course of hundreds of posts over a couple of years. More so, as I've mentioned, the LDS church has shaped you into what you are, and it's more the fact that the church could produce a fruit as bad as you.

So, no, I would not have stayed in the church regardless, but my experience of the church is more sour due to you.

Now, let me ask *you* a question: Do you treat posting like a game? Are you treating other human beings like an ends to a means? That is, do you derive some pleasure out of insulting those who don't agree with the LDS church? Are you sure that your God and your Jesus approve of your behaviour? I mean, you did read the scripture I quoted (Alma 36:14), right? According to your LDS theological tradition, every time you push a person away from the church, you are in effect, committing murder. Do you feel you are committing murder, as Alma said, each time you tear down instead of building up?

But, by all means, don't stop, Pahoran. You are quite entertaining.

Well, geez. Surely Pahoran can't be held up as a good example of an LDS member. He can't even be held up as a good example of an LDS apologist. It's certainly not Pahoran's fault Joseph dropped his prophetic mantle the instant he dropped his pants for Fanny. I mean, really.

I think LDS Toronto's avatar depicting a known homosexual predator shows exactly where his disagreement with the Church lies. He was gone long before he began accepting unsubstantiated rumors regarding Fanny Alger.

This is such crap. I just can't take it. Why bring his name into it at all unless you have some hidden purpose for doing so? Pahoran stengthed your resolve because of his posting style? Please enough of placing blame on someone else's head. You would have left maybe one week later because by the time you posted here on this board you were already out of the LDS church. And if you were looking for perfection in LDS posters well you certainly would not find it here or anywhere else.

So by your claim because pahoran pushed you out of the church he has commited murder? Come on...lets get real. Please stop judging people according to what you think god would or would not approve of.

You do realize how often Pahoran has been insulted by the critics on this board and these insults have been occuring long before you arrived on the scene. Do you hold critics accountable? No. And so, as you leave the LDS church you are perfectly now free to be rude and insulting like many of the critics here. No one will hold you accountable. They will just call it a stage in the leaving process.

Lets hope that when ldstoronto leaves the church he will become like you. You are a wonderful example of critic behavior. What kind of fruit are you eating these days?

Hello Mr. Whyme,

Not your kind, homeboy. Where did you serve your mission again?

I could be wrong here and I am not speaking for Toronto but here is my observation.

Many struggling LDS members find sights such as the MDD board and first discover all sorts of information of which they were unaware, then they realize that apologists don't really have answers to their questions but respond with nastiness.

While it is not the apologists per say that cause someone to leave, it is the fact that questions are not answered in a way that makes sense coupled with the mean spirited interactions for even asking.

A rude response seems to strengthen the struggle; it gives the impression, (true or not) that questioning is wrong, that one is stupid or lazy to even ask, and more importantly, that there really are no sufficient answers.

Just how I have observed it,
