The Church is indeed sensitive to cultural differences. Just a few years ago in my ward, I received email telling me how candidate Obama would ban the eating of bacon in accordance with his Muslim heritage.
If anything, this musical will serve as publicity to aid Mormon Missionaries in their efforts to spread the Gospel. Can't wait for the national road tours and world tour. The songs I Am Africa and Two by Two are good enough that we should consider paying SETI to broadcast them as part of this missionary effort.
