Are we talking about Islamic polygamists or Mormon cougars?
Seriously though, I wonder how God will judge Mormons on the polygamy issue. I mean, the polygamists believe that they need to follow the prophets of the Bible and also the teachings of earlier prophets of the restoration. Mainline Mormons believe that they are following God's laws by only having one wife -- even if it means one wife at a time. I wonder why the polygamists never ask if maybe polygamy is like the situation in the Garden of Eden when God gave two commandments -- they seem to contradict each other but were done so Adam and Eve would take the higher law and populate the planet. What if God wants to see if mainstream Mormons can go against the Church and society and follow a higher law?
I hope that is not the case but I sometimes wonder.
